One day I'll make it along!

Can somebody tell me which PHer this Audi belongs to? Quite random, but I saw (and photographed) the very same car at the 'Ring a couple of weeks ago! thumbup

Yup all is well here, thanks.
Thanks. She's a good ol' girl. Thought it was about time I tried something different from Der Vaterland. 25k miles in 17 months and no major problems. Bloody reliable, these Audis!

How is the S2 these days? A year ago I met a chap with a mint condition blue RS2. Sounded amazing and later he took me out in his replacement silver RS2. Bloody fast and that 5-cylinder has a gorgeous engine note!

biggrin it was me and yep you are indeed correct it was at the Ring a couple of weeks back. Sorry wasn't about much yesterday was there with otherhalf and two wee ones which meant i was a bit lacking in the stand and chat dept lol

If you have any pictures of it being 'eased' round the Ring then would be great as both sessions i went out on were cut short due to Sport Auto bookings and then an oil leak (not mine..) killing my fun after 3 laps.

she wasn't looking too bad for a 190,000 miler yesterday smile

Cheers
David

Thanks for the pics everyonw, I have to admint I had not considered goiong to a PH Sunday Service as it always seemed everyone had new ferraris and porsches and my motors would seem a bit out of place, seems that there was mor eof a mix of owners and car values than I thought. Defo go for the next one

This is pretty much what engine the GT has in it now, 1330cc, with a few extras - 276cam, 1.5 roller rockers, fan delete, Aldon dizzy etc. It made 104hp on the rolling road at Aldon just after we had run it in.
Ah, rather nice smile. Mine was 1400cc - stage 3 unleaded head, pistons, 286 cam, HIF44 carb and maniflow LCB + exhaust (plus work on block, crank and flywheel). Also koni shocks, solid subframe conversion on the front, negative camber bottom arms plus minilite 5x12s and yoko rubber... Most of which meant very little to me at the time - I just said to 'em the sort of end result I wanted biggrin. I didn't touch the exterior or interior (except to replace the black plastic wheel arches with similar slim body coloured ones) so it was a bit of a sleeper which was fun! I never got it put on a rolling road, so I've no idea what it put out.

I've had the car since 1998. Don't drive it much these days as I don't have space to keep it in London. Matt (pixel-snapper) does more miles in it than I do these days.
Even when I ran Corvettes as company cars, it was still a blast to jump in the mini and go for a drive when I went back up North.

wavey Hi David,

Sadly no photos of you on the 'Ring itself. We pulled in to a viewing area on the road to Nurburg and saw your car parked up. I thought it was a lovely car, so "pap'ed" it. Only afterwards did I notice it was a UK car! paperbag

It was taken shortly before my car got a hunger pain for half a doughnut winkangelhehe

I'm fairly certain it was the Monday, when the power-that-be decided to cancel the evening session, informing everyone that very morning! rolleyes
We managed to get on track in the final hour on the Sunday, though. Apparently lots of accidents happened. My brother arrived at the scene of one of the last biker accidents, and some English blokes staying at our hotel, on a stag party, told us the Stag wrote off his Skyline over that weekend yikes

I was down there in the RS4, with my brother in a grey M3 and at the 'Ring with a White Murcielago LP640 cloud9

aaah, you have a blue RS4? Yep that was at the viewing area ta Pflantzgarten...couple of guys i was down there with went off to get some tyres fitted to a 306 which is stored down there in preparation for the session which was binned so i thought i'd go for a blat/wander :-) That stag weekend will certainly be memorable - ouch!

I'd checked out of the hotel on the tuesday as I went to 3 different Ring ticket/info offices after tey said it was closed that evening too...only to then find that it was going to open for an hour and then stayed on for wednesday's session which ended up cut short after a caterham and something else left a snail trail of oil from briedshied (typo?!?!) so i came home with 4 laps left to use.

The ring was a great place to wrap up a manic driving week. We went to Le Mans 9-10th, Chamonix in the french alps on the 11th, Austria on the 12th, a huge audi meet in Grusch, Switzerland on the 13th, then the Ring and home on the 17th..3500km of 5 pot warble with a not exactly subtle exhaust setup LOL

We stayed at the bergstube, where were you guys?

Cheers
David

Yep. Sprint Blue....nice a subtle hehe

We've got some spare laps, too. So will hopefully be heading over in September/October to use them up biggrin
Seems like the Nurburgring owners like to screw people around! rolleyes

That sounds like some trip you undertook! We were on a little jaunt ourselves. Drove to Switzerland on the Friday, had a Swiss PH meet for an Alpine blast on the Saturday, then up the 'Ring on Sunday and Monday, before heading for home on Tuesday. Only 1,850 miles for us! wink

We were staying at the Atles Forsthaus, which is only a few yards from the main entrance to the track.

That TVR teddy bear is so cool!

Can anyone tell me where it came from?
From the TVR Car Club.

Got him at Chatsworth smile
I agree - very cool! Must get one myself, hopefully they'll have some at the BSG.
