I own a Mk2 polo 1.0 which i bought for 100 quid off a mate a year ago and it has sat on my drive pissin my parents off for a year.... last week i was offered 200 quid to take the lump out of it and the breaks and drop them into a Mk1 golf 1.0.... sounds good to me... i only have one small problem.... has anyone attempted this before and will they fit? any tips hints etc would be well appreciated...

I think they are the same basic engine block, but for £200 forget it. Just buy another car and save the money. They MK2 Polo has no servo assistance on the brakes, my 1968 type 3 VW had better brakes. Handbrake works well though.

Why does you friend want to spend £200 on this. You could buy a fleet of MK1 golf 1.0L's for that
