Like the title says I'm looking for a adapter plate for a Ford V6 Cosworth to a RX8 Gearbox.

I'm not looking for this company (http://www.p9cyoplates.co.uk/), the quality is crap.

On the turbosports forum there is a guy (Freddy686868) ho makes decent adapter plates, but i can't contact him.
http://www.turbosport.co.uk/showthread.php?t=50001...

Who can help me?

Kind regards Jan-Erik

Hi There.
just fitted an RX8 to a Cologne V6.
Its more complicated than an adaptor plate.....
First, the input shaft is to short, by about 35mm with the plate in place,
you can fit a shaft extension, but that leaves the drive splines only partially engaged in the clutch driven plate, and the gear lever 15mm further back. Given that the TVR gearchange is extended by 76mm this puts the gearlever 91 mm further back. You will also need to shorten the propshaft and fit the RX8 front end to it. So, anyone want to know how i did it?

tbh, i'm wondering why you'd want to fit an old Cossy V6 to anything other than a long length of chain and toss it over the side of a ship....... ;-)

And depending where he races etc....MSA are tts and allow almost no engine swaps in many classes so you can be stuck with old stuff if that's what your chassis dictates from the manufacturer.

And if it had a 12v then the 24v shares the same block, mounts etc. Race rules often insist you keep the original block design.
