Any ideas how i can cut an exhaust piope in a confined space ? Trying to get a rear silencer off (actually most of it has come away already but left with a small piece at tge joint).

Tried to bash it off, about a cm has been peeled back, can't get a hack saw near it, haven't got a gas torch, no electricity to use a angle grinder ?

Whats left ?!

I think the only thing is to use an angle grinder but i'm a flat and haven't got enough extension leads to get me out to the roadside !!

Battery angle grinder. Gods gift to the driveway mechanic.

Slot a cold chisel into the bit that's started tearing, then start hammering away?

Failing that, you can get battery powered angle grinders. However that is quite an expensive route to go down for what (should have been!) a rather small job.

Sharpened cold chisel will cut through if you hit it hard enough

I used something similar to this many, many years ago. It had a specific name but for the life of me I can't recall.

So many things you "could do" - all depends on access etc
  • 9" Angle grinder
  • Normal Size Angle Grinder
  • Sawzall
  • Reciprocating Air Saw
  • Air Impact Chisel
  • Even a mini hacksaw if needs must...
  • Really sharp bolster and lump hammer....
