Can anyone recommend a good detailer based in the Gatwick / Sussex area? I've recently purchased an Aston Vantage N430 and as well as the detailing am interested to know if it's worth using a sealant / ceramic coating? Thanks

I've never used these myself but whenever i go past they always seem to have a lot of nice cars there so might be worth a call.

Andrew...

When I lived in West Sussex I had this guy
https://www.goringcarvalet.co.uk/

He was a perfectionist... Used him for 2-3 years and I wish I could get someone similar in Kent..

Cheers
A

Had my car ceramic coated a month back after a full detail/machine polish etc, would highly recommend it just takes a quick wash down now and it's back to gleaming again! Don't know how much protection it serves from stonechips but normal dirt just seems to fall off with ease.

Hi - what coating was used and who did you use to apply it?

Was the gyeon range, coated all the outside, wheels and leather inside. Car had loads of swirl marks and abit 'greyish' in sunlight rather than black was like picking up a different car afterwards!

Used Pride and Performance in Lancashire for mine had the car for 5 days in total, look them up on FB Nicks worked on some wonderful machines had a stunning f50 in last week!

I'd definitely recommend a ceramic coating for protection, from Gtechniq, Gyeon or similar, especially relevant on an AM as quite a few of their colours have very, very soft clear coat which means you are looking for as hard a coating as possible to help prevent swirls and the like from returning, allied to the recognised safe wash techniques of course. The latter any detailer worth their salt should give you all the relevant info, tips and product links for.

cheers

Thanks for all the good info. Am now considering having it detailed and then having Xpel Ultimate paint protection film applied. Am told it prevents chips and scratches and is self healing. Anyone had any experience of Xpel? Thanks

Ed at Divine Detail is the man to use. He's based in Coulsdon.

Hi all,

I went to use my car today (after eight days unused) to find a line of white spray paint on the nearside passenger door going ever-so-slightly onto the front door too.

I've made a note of Divine Detail but are there any customers of this or other detailers in the Surrey area who could make a recommendation?

Thanks

I’d go for Ed at Devine Detail in the Coulsdon area. He did an Alpina Z4 for me and then my 991.2 which I believe you can catch on YouTube if you want to watch a very (irish) green 911 detailed highly professionally . There are of course all kinds of people that ‘clean’ cars but frankly I can’t think of anyone who does it with (1) love for the subject, (2) love for your ‘object’, (3) with such knowledge and enthusiasm and (4) chucks in a good dollop of petrol-headism and car-enthusiasm for free. Some people do this as a business: Ed does it as a ‘calling’. Why would you go elsewhere ?

100% agree with this and as a multi times concours winner after decades of doing it myself having my first ever professional detail done by Ed was an education and a joy to see such care and attention to detail as if the car was Ed’s very own Highly recommend

Thanks very much both. I'll give him another hour or so to respond to my email then give him a call. I'm going to see what happens with some warm water and Meguiar's.

Thanks for the recommendation of Ed at Divine Detail. I picked up the A6 this afternoon after an overnight enhancement detail and the car looks great - here's hoping for no more spray paint! Thanks Ed!
