Overall some aspects seem not too bad, but very much yes some seem overpriced, especially the labour time.

It probably wouldnt be unreasonable to ask why it took so long ? And if that included their lunch and tea breaks lol
This ^ cool the rest of the bill looks like a gift in comparison whistle and yes ask for a break down thats where they usually stumble IMO well main dealers do IME

Thinking about all this,I would say the cause of the over heating was the cracked water pump. May be the head job was unnecessary ? who knows.
The garage realized their miss diagnosis error and said they would not charge extra labour for the water pump job. (How honest of them).
Mind you what they have done is to jack up the head job bill to cover the lost hours changing a water pump.

Try challenging them on this. The whole job is a bit iffy, that bill needs to be reduced.

If the original quote was £800 then they should have been a bit more forthcoming when they decided it would be “a bit more”.

An extra £630 is not “a bit more”.

I’d be questioning the 22 hours labour. Seems excesssive to say the least.
