QUESTION :
I'm seeking advice on a cherished VW Passat V5 and it's unfortunate unexplained engine judder.
Can anyone please help or make recommendations on a really good VW Passat specialist ?

ISSUE :
After much exploratory work and many hundreds of pounds later I'm still no closer to identifying what causes my car's engine to judder, choke like it's running on 3 cylinders.
On start up it idles roughish and progressively gets worse as the engine heats up.
In cold weather judder is almost not noticeable and the engine performs as it should until the engine is at normal running temp.

FINDINGS :
It's been fully serviced, looked at by two recommended workshops who unfortunately have not been able to diagnose the issue.

SOLUITION :
Has anyone experience of this problem with a Passat V5 (110k miles) and know of a solution ?

Many thanks for your consideration.

Have you replaced anything?

Temp sensor would be a start point, additionally try unplugging the MAF when it's running rough and see if you have any improvement.

Might be worth buying a cheap OBD reader and see if any codes are stored ,you should also be able to read the engine temp and intake temp data if you buy on thats semi decent.
