I had my clutch, dmf and slave replaced by Ford a few days ago I've started to noticed an intermittent knocking noise when I'm turning right.
The sound seems to be coming from the front left of the car and I've only noticed it when moving on a right turn.

I'm not sure what is taken apart, removed, dropped etc when I guess the gearbox is removed, but maybe something hasn't been tightened up, or worked loose?

I haven't had a chance to call the dealer yet, but will be tomorrow to see what they say... but I was just wanting to be armed with questions \ possible problems... so was thinking I could maybe try and self help first with opinions.

Car is a 2013 tdci Ford Focus 65k miles

CV joint has been overextended when moving things out of the way to get the gearbox off

Sorry! Thank you moderator for moving the thread! What a tit.

Thank you for the reply, does that mean it needs to be replaced?

I just popped down and gave it a quick wobble left and right and theres a horrible squeak at stationary from behind the left front wheel.

It depends OP, I’ve seen it happen in a Caterham where the driveshaft has just popped out of the cup and it can be stripped and reassembled, but not sure if that’s common to all types of CV joint

Jacked the car up - Found the issue - Its being looked at by Ford on Monday...

Any ideas what this could be? Everything was fine until the clutch change...?

I suppose you’ve checked the obvious, wheel is on correctly and tightened? If so have you taken the wheel off and checked the wheel hub?

I take it it's being collected.

Looks very much like the hub nut on the end of the drive shaft has not been done up correctly after the clutch change and has destroyed (at least) the wheel bearing.
I probably don't need to say this but, DO NOT DRIVE it anymore like that.
Don't let em try to wriggle out of anything, this is definitely down to a mistake when doing the clutch and hence totally the responsibility of the garage to rectify.

Pull the wheel off so we can see the nut on the end of the driveshaft.

Bloody hell, that is bad. Clearly something not tightened up properly after being undone for the clutch change

This, and don't let them away with just tightening up the nut. It might actually pull together and seem to work fine for a while if they do this, but it won't last, bearing will now be knackered and won't last long.
