I want to buy some OBD II type A Female connectors, the type that normally sits in the car, not the one that goes on the cable. Ideally I would Like 90 Degree PCB mount, any idea who other than some bloke in China may stock them ?

Thank you for that, exactly what I need, there must however be someone in the UK.

I will order several hundred so scrap yard may not be the best solution.

Any good - around £1 each with a decent order size.

Contacts are extra, and i'm not sure if you can get "PCB tailed" ones that can be directly soldered to a pcb?

For low volume you could hand solder an inline wire connector to through holes on the pcb, eg

however that's a right phaff

Vertical oriented direct to pcb J1962 sockets are obvs available somewhere:

or you could use a wire bucket type with an additional pcb acting as a backplane type arrangement eg:

Thanks for all the suggestions.
The RS part is a shell into which you fit Crimp terminals for wires rather than PCB . Bucket type with a sub PCB is probably the best option although it does add cost and is not mechanically ideal.
