Is there a substance that can be used to rust proof an exhaust? It's after the cat convertor. I put some bilt hammer hydrate 80 on it but it has just seemed to have burnt off when used. Thanks for any advice.

Doubt it. The exhaust will rust from the inside anyway as steam/water from combustion will get it eventually.

A byproduct of what the cat does is water, you will see it dripping out of every cat fitted car exhaust.
It will sit in the bottom of the silencers, and low parts of the exhaust tube.

Exhausts generally rust from the inside out.

Water is a by product of burning hydro carbons.

Some silencers have small weep holes to let the moisture out.

This is not a "new" thing, since time immemorial burning a HYDRO carbon produces water & in much higher quantities than the cat produces.
