Yes, I'm a prat.

I managed to spray a bit of 303 fabric guard on my rubber door seal whilst spraying the seat. I had a blanket down to protect the surfaces but it was very windy today.

It could be worse but I only bought the car last week and the shiny rubber looks a bit daft and is visible when I open the door.

How might I remove this? Would Meguiars Paint Cleaner (stage 1) work or be too harsh? Not had great success with general fabric valet spray.

Cheers!

Ok, well I got most of the 303 off by buffing it with my Farecla G3 clay mitt. However, have a different issue now whereby the bit I buffed looks a different colour. When I run my finger along it, it has a more grabby rubbery feel than the smoother surrounding bits - guessing it's treated rubber and I've buffed away the top layer (do they put rubber gloss on door seals?) or maybe it's just how the material's surface is.

I know this sounds a bit OCD as its only the trim but it stands out when I open the door due to its two tone.

I'm guessing best bet is just to use black rubber shine on the seals? The plastic on Windows needs treated anyway as it's a bit grey despite having only done 14k.

You just need to even out the surface, a citrus cleaner is perfect for this, no need to buy car specific product for such a small job, supermarket cleaning aisle will serve you well.

cheers
