any issues with lightbar in front of intercooler?
Discussion
Hi all,
ive got a 1.6l Citroen DS3 Dsport, i also have a 36 inch lightbar that ive used on a couple other cars before, in the past i have just put it on the roof, but the lightbar happens to fit perfectly in the grille area, i want to put it behind the grille, but this would put it directly in front of the intercooler.
The intercooler is quite a small one, maybe a foot across in width, on the drivers side of the car, and the car is also completely standard, haven't modified it in any way, so it isnt being pushed very hard (supposedly the intercooler is good enough for another 50bhp) so im thinking that the surface area blocked by the lightbar would be minimal and not really affect the cars power, especially over winter.
could this cause any problems and would it cause a noticeable drop in power?

Why do you think it'll blind people?
Well I imagine it's fairly bright, and if not fitted correct could dazzle other drivers. Not overly tricky to work out.I also imagine that a fairly new DS3 has pretty good lights as standard, so really no need to retrofit a lightbar.

It would be for main beam use, not dip beam. So no different to fitting spotlights to any other vehicle. Which is still a fairly common thing.I also imagine that a fairly new DS3 has pretty good lights as standard, so really no need to retrofit a lightbar.
As for being newish... doesn't really mean much tbh. Lots of modern cars have rubbish headlights, especially on mainbeam. And good lights can make a big difference if you are driving outside of towns and cities.

It is unlikely to make any odds. Fit it and see, if you notice a sudden performance change or higher running temps after fitting.
