2009 vw touran 1.9tdi white smoke if idle for 10 minutes
Discussion
Or is it just the water generated as a byproduct of burning diesel/petrol & is entirely normal?
As the exhaust system heats up it will also boil off what remained in it from your last usage & that which has condensed in it on this start-up.
Also the reason that cars that only do short journeys go through exhausts faster than those used for long distance as they never get hot enough to boil it off & rots from the inside.
Are you losing coolant for no apparent reason?
That said, it might be worth having your emissions checked just to rule out a fueling problem as unburnt diesel will show up as white smoke & causes can include injector timing issues, low compression, cold engine, faulty injector. Wii often make your eyes sting.
