Ah okay il try to get that sorted then pal as well as getting the chain il keep you guys updated once again cheers??
No hassle, I have an Eos with the same BWA engine and a mate has a GTI too. Lots of stuff done to the pair of those. If you haven't done it yet, drop the sump and clean the oil pickup ASAP

Just had it serviced mate and told mechanic about the oil pressure light ans was told by few mechanics to check the sump and pipe. But the guy i took it too said its ok it did not throw up any lights no need to check. 🤔

I'd ignore that bit of advice and get the sump dropped and the strainer cleaned or replaced, mine was almost completely blocked with carbon and other ste, just because there is no lights or warnings doesn't mean it's not blocked, starving the engine of oil will cost you big time if you don't sort it asap.

Right guys so I have had the timing belt, fan belt and water pump changed along with the thermostat from mechanic. The thermo hasnt made much change as the temp still drops slightly. And yesterday when flooring it locally the car went into limp mode again on low fuel😅. Im not sure if it could be the dv valve as the turbo did get cleaned after it went into limp mode first time and all power is there it goes like a absolute rocket. Btw dv was changed not long ago along with turbo clean and full service. P0234 boost pressure regulation limit exceeded (over boost condition) p0234 upper limit reached-intermittent.

Im not sure if im pointing towards a new turbo as the lad i took it to first said that the vanes were getting stuck.

Are you saying that you had these three codes after the latest incident? What was the low fuel code?

It is obviously directly to do with it.

I assume the mechanic fixed those various loose things. Did that fix the problem?

I bet its running a cheap £150 map done by 'Dave' the local "tuner" with a laptop, it should not be showing 219bhp on a dyno because they as standard only come with 200 and would dyno at around 160bhp at the wheels, I foolishly had my A3 'remapped' by a local "tuner" it then dropped into limp mode all the time, PO234 overboost, I changed everything, the DV valve, N75, PCV etc etc and it would still do it, I had the map removed and the car once again drove perfectly, I bet if you have the standard map flashed back onto your ecu the problems would disappear.

Yes he clipped them back on but one of the metal clips that clamps onto the hose what the MAF sensor is missing. Havwnt really took it for a blast as of yet so not sure.

I was there the whole time mate he dynod the car at front wheels and only chamged the dcv valve put it back on dyno and produced the 219 figure so no map on the car it has a bacbox delete with custom exhaust so not sure if thats helping. Not sure if the dv valve is right for the car or what?
