Peugeot 306 1.9D can't find a new bottom radiator hose

Can only find two hoses online which were purchased and they are different to the original, the bayonet fitting end of the original is at 90 degrees to the hose

New hoses have approximately 60 degree bends

These are the numbers of Gates hoses that don't fit 3847 and 3843

Engine is DJY (XUD9A)

Does anyone know of another hose that will do the job

Thanks, tried bending it, puts too much strain on the fitting which causes the O Ring seal to leak, hose becomes too short, also out of shape which could restrict flow

Can't suggest any alternative sources, but in terms of getting that one to fit I've seen people use external formers to hold a shape in a hose. If that leaves the hose too short, perhaps you could cut it on one the the straight sections and insert a short tube.

The right hose would obviously be preferable.

Will wait and see if anyone comes along with the correct hose and if not will get cutting extending and shaping

There is a used hose on ebay that looks identical, thing is want a new one

You can buy silicone hoses in pieces, corners, angles etc... from places like Demon Tweeks, so you could measure exactly what you need, cut the bayonet joiner off the new (or old) hose and make a new pipe from a few silicone pieces with alloy joiners.

My parts catalogue gives a result and so did Google and Ebay. The pic shows a 90 degree end on it.

I presume this is a tech error on Gates' behalf, as there's nothing similar in the 306 at all.

I have seen problems with hoses where the engines were shared between Peugeot/Citroen and the hose layout was different, but with the same part numbers, but again that's not happening here as the Xsara's hose layout is completely different, with expansion takeoffs on the bottom hose...

There is no Peugeot parts network with old car stock in Greece, doubt any Peugeot dealers in Europe stock hoses for a 22 year old car but even if they did wouldn't be able to view them

The Sasic hose does look to be correct

Will take a chance and order it

Wish there was a way of having a hose checked before ordering, that would be too easy

I have access to their servicebox - and the drawings of the hoses shown do look like your original - so if you want to let me have your vin I'll have a look & see what comes up.

I believe you can sign up for the PSA servicebox as a public user now - absolutely brilliant for finding parts for any of their cars, with lovely exploded diagrams easily to hand.

As noted, there aren't many diesel variants of the 306, looking through them all there's no alternate part number - I think Gates have just made an error in that particular part. I bet quite a few have been fitted and bodged into place.
