Hi all,
A friend from work is getting a new F type delivered soon and asked me if I wouldn't mind going over it when it arrives. I have tried to push him to pay for a proper ceramic or at least front facing PPF but he doesn't think its worth it. Im a hobbyist at best, once or twice a year I will go over my and my families cars with a clay bar, DA polisher, meguires hybrid spray, wheel sealant etc... then monthly top ups with snow foam/wash, hybrid ceramic wax etc...

What would you recommend should be done to a new car, bear in mind it will be done on a driveway, so no coatings that need to cure indoors. Is there any need to go over it with a DA polisher or should I just give it a foam, shampoo, clay and ceramic spray?

Its being delivered in a few weeks so I have time to order things.

Thank you for any help/advice you can offer!

Wash, clay & detar, polish with a DA if your comfortable doing so, or you could just use something like poorboys Blackhole via the DA instead, and then seal up with Gyeon's q2 Can Coat on top to finish. Can rival a ceramic coating if applied properly and is driveway applicaiton friendly. A top up of Gyeon's new Q2 wax and itll be a jobs a goodun!

Thanks irfan! My only worry would be that Gyeon says that the coat needs to cure indoors for 12 hours which is something I can't do. The blackhole sounds good, it will be a dark blue car so should work well.

The CanCoat is a good idea, but you can’t use it over Black Hole - CanCoat IS a ceramic coating, albeit a lower solids coating and it will not bond to typical filler polishes like Black Hole. It needs bare clean paint or a new fangled SiO2 primer polish.

A similar product to CanCoat but which doesn't need a curing time is Infinity Wax Synergy Lite. It still needs to bond to clean polished and bare paint. Lots of deals around for Black Friday.

That Synergy Lite looks like a good suggestion, thanks!
