Possible?

Waiting for the 2016 A-class to be delivered and it has no key as it was previously lost (car bought from auciton)

Is there any way to engage neutral ?
and is there a safe way to move the car without trashing the tranny?

I was thinking to jack up the car, it needs to be moved from the road to my single car driveway.

I wouldn’t have thought so otherwise you could just smash a window and push it away

You can do that on most cars, although the steering lock means it can only go the way the wheel are pointing

You might want to release the electric parking brake as well!

If the delivery company can deliver it on the road, why not your drive?

There is a manual override in the selector assembly that is usually operated with a flat blade screwdriver - if you don't have one to hand there should be one as part of the tool kit in the boot.

The neutral lock release procedure should be covered in the owners manual.

It's all well and good stating its probably in the manual, but a car with no keys bought at auction... sounds like a finance repo (or stolen recovered) and chances are there's no book pack either. I didn't get them on the cars I bought.

Sorry OP, I'm not familiar with the Merc method. On my Jaguar there is a mechanical pull cord in arm rest/centre console area that can be used to release the transmission. Hopefully Merc has something similar.

Older generation but in my GL with the selector on a stalk, the only way to get neutral with the ignition off is via Mercedes star.
Not so handy when your EIS module leaves you stranded.

There should be a switch or some level if you lift the center console up, which will let you move the shifter
