Hello All,

Need a coil, something sturdy thats resistant'ish to high tempreture. Pref not an oil filled one and it has to be suitable to mount horizontaly.

Any Ideas?

Cheers

Take a look round any breakers. Most modern cars have quite compact coils. Check out some Jap cars. Toyota, Nissan. Some of them still use a Dizzy to distribute teh spark from a single coil.

Problem I've got at the moment is that ignition breaks down at 1.8bar. Plan to run 2bar on the new engine so obviously this is going to be a bit of a problem. One solution is to use the DI from an 88/89 9000 Turbo.

With an almost diesel like compression ratio under boost I'm not sure how a standard coil would stand up, even with a very small plug gap. Really need something huge and capable of spitting 40Kvolts out 108 times a second
