Graham,

The above example was based on an MGF with weight transfer but road tyres, so say 1g. Assume with race you will pull over 1g increasing weight transfer somewhat so fronts will need a boost.

For RWD for road the split could be say 70F 30r.

Assume again in race trim its lowered, so would that balance tyres or increase towards say 80F 20R?

Interesting that some cars are overbraked at rear as again I would assume most would be cautious and underbrake rear.

Most TVRs are like this, if not all. Combined with dampers which have little/no low speed damping so you get massive pitch transients when you hit the brakes, and enough engine braking to get you into trouble, it's a recipe for disaster. In fact it's a little surprising there are so few accidents.

I found similar to Graham, putting bigger brakes on the front of the V8S moved the bias forwards and this improved the balance substantially. I liked it so much I kept the same balance later on when I upgraded to 300mm/4 pot.
