No idea. Used to be about 10% but they are no longer made so you can call that up or down depending on the debate. Did see new Stradales' advertised for £95k which is a lot off.

Hello all,
Long term lurker here.

Funnily enough just went through these exact cars whilst looking very recently.

Long story short, I’ve had back issues for a while now and was not using my fun car. My daily was due a change, so I decided that I’d still like something interesting but comfortable.
Which led me to consider (somewhat) sporty SUVs.

In all honesty I didn’t really look at many.
My girlfriend got herself a Macan a month earlier and I love it (she does too). It exceeded my expectations. Just a wee hot hatch that’s slightly raised up and not a bad place to sit. Lovely wee thing. Fun to drive too.

Her shortlist was the Macan or the F-Pace. The F pace was also very nice, but too similar to her Evoque inside and for the deals to be had at the time, the Macan appeared to better it there in terms of money too. I should also mention it’s a bit of a tardis. I expected it to be very small, but the boot is decent and I can fit in the back whilst she is in the front (though she is a midget, so not really a good estimation of size...)

Since she ended up with a Macan, I figured I’d go for something else.
I’ve no idea why, but I decided I wanted to look at the Levante. Had never seen one in the metal.
Test drove it and was hooked on the noise alone.

I just wanted something; easy to get in and out of for a 6ft6 podgy guy, be interesting in some way and just enough power to get out it’s own way.

Things I like;

Lovely place to sit.

Both sport modes open the exhaust flaps and it sounds fantastic for a sensible car - makes me giggle.

Red leather - because I’m a tart.

Vented AC seats - I’m in Houston and it’s always sweaty balls weather.

The looks - I understand it’s marmite, but the front end is a nice change from most other things
Not seen another on the road

It’s nippy enough to make progress

The ride is very comfortable in I.C.E. or normal mode

The Uconnect system is one of the best in my opinion for the stereo, nav, CarPlay, etc etc

Things I don’t like;

Transmission in sports mode is fine for making progress, but awful in traffic. Yes I realize this is a daft complaint, but it is very jerky in slow moving traffic. (Buttery smooth in I.C.E. Or normal)

It drinks like a fish! 9mpg average on my second day with it. I’m now at 18 avg with 1400 miles.

Less headroom in the rear compared to Macan

Also, my workmate has a gle43 and we’ve had a go in each other’s.
We both agreed Maserati rides better in comfort and sport modes, whilst also staying flatter in sport.
The skyhook seems to work well indeed.

It does feel rwd, there have been a few times when pulling away from a junction in the wet, with a lead foot, it will rotate on the throttle. Quite surprised.

Overall, thoroughly enjoying it so far. Bit of a novelty to me having something nippy and high up.

Apologies for the ramble. Happy to answer any questions and fully braced for a slagging for buying an suv with sporty pretensions!!!

Interesting read. I had huge hopes for the Levante but haven't been convinced on its looks. I also thought it would be a disappointing drive, nice to read you think otherwise.

Happy motoring.

Over the past couple of weekends I had a test drive of a Levante S and a petrol Stelvio (not the QV as they aren't around yet).

The Levante was better than I expected. It's essential an updated version of my Ghibli S but taller. They done something to the exhaust note such that it sounds even better. I was impressed with the lack of body roll and the manoeuvrability for such a big heavy car. It was all at a cost though, the one I drove was £92k.

The Stelvio, even with only the 280hp petrol engine, was a surprise. You can tell that the quality isn't there. The plastics aren't as nice etc. However you could feel the comparative lack of weight. Once you got used to pushing the 4-pot it was throwable into corners and it didn't object at all. Its not as capable off-road as the Levante, no adjustable ride-height or air suspension and fewer toys, but for an on-road SUV it was pretty handy. It also felt quick and responsive when moving. The QV will be nuts.

Sorry but proper supercar manufacturers simply do not make 4 x 4 SUV's.

If you want to meet someone so up themselves you need to come and meet the neighbour with his new Porsche Macan GTS.
Convinced he must be a drug dealer and proves money does not equal class.

Of the 3 the Levante looks the best and even the big Maserati grill looks more at home

Absolutely - the photos of one in yellow look great to my eyes - looking forward to seeing / hearing one in the flesh!
