Hi all. Currently the petrol version is riding high at 75k-ish...but does anyone have a prediction on how fast the depreciation will hit, and when the petrol Levante could touch a 10k reduction from present? Thanks!

Maseratis are great (particularly older models) but if you're worried about depreciation buy used or something else. New cars tank in value, you'd be much better of buying 1-2 year old example. I visited a Maser dealer recently in London and the guy was already knocking off several thousand before I even sat in the damn thing and at the Dubai motorshow today the Maser stand was empty.

I would suggest quicker than its 0 - 60 time. £10k is nothing on this car and if you are not already buying it at a substantial discount you would be mad

From list I would guess 15-20k depreciation in year one and another 10k off if you sold to trade. So for 80k list 55k trade bid / 65k dealer offer

Thanks all! The petrol version has only been out for a month in the UK, so what I'm wondering is whether in a month or two, there will be more available at lower prices than today's 75k examples. I realise that waiting a year is favourable, but I'm looking at options considering that the purchase is likely to happen before end of Feb.

Negotiate hard and I would say you are already there for March delivery. Maserati dealers in the UK are absolutely desperate.

Have a look at the leases (PCH) on the HR Owen website. Think the Levante Diesel can be had for £500-900 a month. A quick phone call might tease out some petrol or better deals.

Not sure how much joy you'll have negotiating on the few petrol cars that will be allocated to the UK at least in the next 6 months. There's currently a pent up demand from people that can afford to pay the retail price.

I'd expect the price to drop inline with that of the Ghibli, so expect £50k for a well specced petrol once its a couple of years old.

I test drove the Levante S three weeks ago, nice drive, but the price on it was £92k and it was still missing some of the extras. Best bet for a price drop is to hope that they bring out a GTS next year with the V8TT in it to tempt the existing petrol buyers to switch.

Although the diesel market will get a kick up the arse over the next few years, st petrol variant won’t fair any better. It’s not hardcore enough (500bhp+) to make a strong case for itself like a Range Rover SVR. It’s a bit in no mans land...Avoid.
