I'm thinking of getting a Ghibli as a daily driver (would have to be the diesel the fast/weekend car box is already ticked), but am having problems finding any indie garages in the North East for Maserati in general.

Google only comes up with Dave Walton who I spoke to but does not service the more recent cars so not a possibility for the ghibli.

Nearest AD is Leeds which is 2 hours drive away!

Does anyone know of any, or used any indie specialists in the North East they could recommend?

Thanks in advance for any help.

A quick google search has just thrown up Lyles and Benfield, both in Newcastle?

Thanks, I had a look at the Lyles site before posting but as far as I can tell they are an alfa specialist, no mention of Maserati on their site at all.

Does anyone have an experience of using them?

Not sure why they come up on a google search but doesn't actually look like they service Maserati of any kind.

Benfield was I believe (someone please correct me if I am wrong?) an AD for Newcastle but no longer is, and has nothing to do with Maserati anymore. They are not listed on the Maserati official site anymore, nothing is for North East.

I'm hoping to find a specialist, willing to travel, but not as far as Leeds just for a servicesmile

I am based in the North East with a Granturismo. Dave Walton is well respected as is R&P Woods in Heaton who look after some specialist cars. Don't use the Alfa guys you mentioned. There was some bad press about a Maserati being overfilled with oil as they didn't know how to check the oil level on a dry sump system.

The service intervals on the Granturismo are biannual which is too long in my mind so I use R&P woods for an interim service.

Maserati buyers are a particularly funny bunch (not excluding myself from this claim) and very sensitive to dealers/specialist history so you may be better off asking JCT600 Brooklands in Leeds to pick up and return your car. If your car is on a contract hire deal I would also check the small print about where you are required to service the car as they will check this on collection.
