Ha yes that’s it sorryI was listening to a clip of this dude starting up his 612 Scag yesterday thinking the GT sounds better, there’s something really exotic about how fast and high pitches the crank is before it fires, sends shivers down my spine.
Ind terms of my usage it suits me better than the manual R8 I replaced it with.
Can’t stop thinking about buying my old one back

Really? Supprised by that as I had the variators, discs, pads, ARBs, handbrake shoes and all tyres replaced in my ownership. Prior to my ownership the timing cover gasket was done. Those are a lot of the things that need attention on these - what else was there? I don't think the suspension had ever been changed and that's the big job on these on the front, costing well over £2k for new wishbones & geo, was it that?

Your car would look evil if you dechromed it. I got the silver bits around the window (or as my wife put it, the window frame) wrapped in black but you could easily plastidip it yourself if you like that look

Seems to be a well looked after one judging by the file of receipts I have, the latest was 2000 miles (now on 55k) ago for over £4k when all the suspension components were replaced. Has a new battery and four new premium tyres, wheels were refurbed last year and still unmarked. Interior would not have been my first colour (cream) choice but it's growing on me and in very good condition. Was thinking of this below but believe it needs the aux input which mine doesnt have though the blank plate is there in the glove box and I understand it's pretty easy to fit one. Would welcome any tips you might care to share please.

Also thinking of having chrome wrapped in black as I'm not a huge fan of chrome, one of my other cars is a D2 Audi S8 which was dechromed as a factory option.

I'm sure you know about the variator issue on cars up to about 2009ish (can check VIN number) - has that been addressed already - if not, what I did was get it fixed pre-emptively before it appeared. Cost me £1500 at Shilltech in Loughborough they retrofitted the machined cam covers with the check valve which stops the variators running dry of oil when the car is off, which is apparently what causes the rattle to develop on startup. If the problem later develops, the variators are damaged and need replacing which is a much bigger job as the engine needs to be retimed which is 20 hours labour(!!! WTF) as they didn't include timing markers on the engine or something
That solution looks good for the stereo, from a functionality point of view, and easy to install. I don't know how you add AUX. How do you adjust the settings on the stereo when that's installed - you'd need to remove it or put it in a clear mode. The sound quality may improve a bit, see if you like it. Installing a different head unit is a ball ache as it requires a bespoke bezel to be made up, and a bespoke control module to interface with the car or you get error messages. Auto Audio and Nuvola do this I don't know if they would sell them retail.
Your solution wasn't available when I got mine so I took it to Auto Audio in Park Royal where I spent about £3500 on a 7" Pioneer head unit, reverse camera, Morel components front and coaxials rear and a Genysys amplifier. Sounded pretty pimp.
If you have an inkling that you may later want to install amps and stuff then I wouldn't get that solution unless it has front/rear/sub outs or you'd need to get some additional Audison processor

Cool beans, sounds like a good one. I always preferred the cream / red interior on these on darker painted cars - the cars look quite exotic outside, a jazzy colour interior keeps that up. If it hasn't got the Larini X pipe get that fitted it's only £300 and the only zorst upgrade it needs
