Looks best in red or dark grey to me.

I thought it would be priced closer to £140-150k, but hope it depreciates quickly so I can buy one in a couple of years

Good news on the no need to spend a fortune on options..Both those examples look equally stunning..If push came to the shove i'd be inclined to get a white one like your first example..I think it's going to be a brilliant car..It looks different enough to anything else on the road which will give it an unique identity,i especially love the doors and prominent trident in the front grille..
In hindsight it was never going to less than £180k due to Dallara's involvement and being all CF..The 992TTS is just based on the existing boggo 992 with the same body, gearbox, interior etc which makes it a cheap car to develop and a much less special car compared to the MC20.I'd happily pat £30k more for the MC20 over the Porsche but still maintain the it needs to to be £50k cheaper than a similar specified F8 Tributo.
If a 992TTS at £160k, MC20 at £190k and F8 Tributo(with 'must have' options) at £240K then the MC20 is well placed to succeed IMO..

I think it looks great but I'm probably in a minority that doesn't like doors that open up. For me the sound will be the most important thing. If it pops, cracks and farts many other current cars, I'll lose interest quickly.

With you on that! Why do super-car manufacturers suddenly seem compelled to make their cars sound like modified Corsa's queuing in a McDonald's drive through! The Lotus Exige V6 sounds amazing with no pops and bangs, just pure engine noise. I hope Maserati have followed this route and not that of AMG & RS etc. or I it's no likey from me.....

Nope Taffy. Being north of the TTS kills it. It just plain does unfortunately.
I say with Milan having already rung me to arrange the test drive (whenever it will be).

It won’t matter how it drives, the numbers already put it the wrong side of the value proposition. Now fortunately FCA fked up the same with the 4C and after a cpl of years offered fully loaded ones at 25% cheaper.
I maintain again, this is 25% over where my internal value for money places it. And I AM their market for this.

I personally like it, and really good to see Maserati having a supercar in the pack among the usual suspects.

on a side note seems to be a real step change happening in the use of youtubers in manufacturer launches with Shmee on the AMG Black Series, and Mr JWW doing the global launch for both Aston Martin and Maserati recently. These 2 guys are clearly operating on a different level now against the rest of the youtubers they started off with.

Why? Under most conditions most cars quite frankly drive the same. When you are two up with luggage taking the lass away from a weekend...you drive fairly normally. Frankly it doesn’t matter if you are in an F8, MC20 or the Cayenne. “How” such a car drives in that sense matters bugger all.

Whatsmore nobody buys a £200k motor for why/how it drives. Hell, Lotus has found it bloody hard to persuade ppl to give a fk about how a car drives at half that price, third of the price...a quarter of the price!!!

You need something pulls the money out of the punters pockets.

Totally disagree with that.

Boring cars might drive the same (or similar) but there's a massive difference between the cars you give as an example. To emphasise the point I think you may prefer a European road trip, 2 up with luggage, in a Cayenne rather than say a 2CV!

I’d say different types of Cars most definitely don’t drive the same even in normal day to day driving - to me it makes a big difference (might not be as important to some buyers, but those are not really car people I suspect - most people who spend a lot on a car probably do care)

Ferraris and Porsches are both brilliant cars but like chalk and cheese to drive even at sensible speeds..I'd wager this new MC20 will surpass all expectation on driving ability just because Dallara developed it..This is going to be a giant slayer mark my words.!

I just played with the configurator and the standard spec seems very similar to the F8..After driving the F8 last week i'm struggling to think of a car which can compete with it right now..The new MC20 has a specialness about it which i felt in the F8..Nobody does panache and soul like the Italians.
I wouldn't even consider the new 992TTS if i could get this new Maserati instead..The MC20's main competitor will be the new Roma with similar power and price..I'd pick the MC20 personally as it'll be more focused as a driver's car.

Taf - I drive a Dallara chassis as my daily!
And there’s pretty much only Christian and myself in the U.K. (and only a handful more in the rest of Europe) who can claim that! I think even Jamie and Ben usually drive something more sane as their daily. And we both live nestled in some of the best driving roads in the country. You are I’m afraid just a touch on the exaggerating side of hyperbole.

Had a look at the configurator too. It has to be Winning Red for me - Rosso Vincente sounds so much sexier! With Nero/ Cuoio interior. And I've requested a test drive which I'm guessing will be some way off.

Agree with your comments about price point. I think it's pitched about right. There's going to be a lot of interest as it's a viable alternative to Ferrari or McLaren with a very prestigious badge. I think the F8 is a truly beautiful car though, as is the Roma. The Italians seem to be back on top don't they

I'm close to placing an order for an F8 however this Maserati has given me an alternative..I've started watching JWW's pre-launch video and i'm astonished how much Carbon there is in the car..Its pretty much entirely made from CF which justifies its price alone IMO..
Its a very appealing car in my humble opinion however i don't expect everyone to concur smile..What i do know is that i'm bored stiff already of all the 992s especially after driving the F8 and seeing this gorgeous MC20..
Your dealer will be Carrs and mine is DL Swindon..When i decided to phoned DL this morning to ask about the MC20 i realised they are no longer a Maserati main dealer..

The test drives are being arranged via Milano. They then sort it with your local dealership.

Given my previous experience of dealing with FCA in Milan, I was bloody shocked at getting a phone call so quickly yesterday! The last time I actually tried to buy a car, whilst I was there, in the HQ/Factory/Dealership "Shop", they kind of went all Italian on me and just shrugged! It was for the original version of this car as well smile Have to love Italian business hehe

Got the call from Milan yesterday too.
Apparently lots of interest from the UK!

She said Italian/LHD drive cars are already available for test drives, but was unsure about RHD.
