I need to replace one of my switchable valves and after seeing the price for the kit on the monkfish site i'm wondering if there are any aftermarket replacement parts I can get.

Is that valve called a butterfly valve or does it have a more technical name smile

You should be able to replace with similar aftermarket parts on line, IIRC its a 3 bolt configuration and you are right it is a butterfly valve.

The above has the valve you need, that should fit.

Did you try any of these? My switchable valves aren't working either. There's a whirr from the valves when the button is pressed but no change in volume.

If these fitted please let me know!

I have the first link fitted.
One of them fell apart due to vibration I hink ( the motor part, not the pipework which is high quality) they replaced it no problem. I superglued the screws in the replacement. No issues since.

Good second link. That just plugs into the first link's loom.

Thanks. I got under the car this afternoon and had a look. It looks to be the same 3 bolt fitting as those linked.

Mine are making noises when the exhaust button in the car is pressed but dont seem to be moving. Will have to pull them out and have a better look when i've got the time.

Just to update this for those fitting valves into a wortec cat back with load/quiet capability(Monaro). The valves in the links above say 2.5" but I've been under the car and taken some measurements and the bolt pattern on the flange has 85mm hole centers which is a 3" cutout valve not a 2.5".
I ordered 2 3" cutout's on Ali Express with cables controller and switch for £58 delivered , 10 days later they arrived without any additional charges and I can't really fault them . The controller opens and closes them with one touch each way

Mine are the same- from aliexpress.
They still work but have started rattling /fluttering both open and closed. Need to get underneath and check out what's loose.

Yes for the price paid I'm expecting some issues but with all the raw materials there I'm confident I'll be able to re engineer any problems , and the more expensive options don't seem to be without there issues either so I'm happy smile

We have those too.

I don't know if you've looked under the black boot, which was loose, and so not very good for keeping the weather out?

I filled mine with silicone sealant before sliding the boot back over the motor, and putting a cable tie around it, to hold it to the motor tighter.

Yes my thoughts too I've also planning to remove the bolts and apply high temp thread lock

Daft question I'm sure, I have a Wortec cat back which is switchable by changing the plates out manually. I assume these would be a direct replacement ? How easy would it be wiring them in?

Cheers

Couldn't be much simpler. I've threaded the wires through the boot floor where the wheel speed sensor wiring goes through and into the cabin over the wheel arch where the car loom pass through then under the back seat and across the gearbox tunnel under the carpet to the center console . Connect 12v feed (or use the supplied cigarette adapter) fit the switch in chosen position .

You need one of these as well to join the two valve looms into one to keep them plug and play

Mine has a remote controller box for each cutout. The wiring can all stay at the rear of the vehicle with these.

And mine. 2 fobs gives more variety in noise imho.

Did you fill with electical grade (poor term, I'm sorry) sealant as opposed to building stuff with acetic acid? The non-electrical stuff etches copper over time.

Nope. Bathroom sealant, so when they stop working, I'll have a good idea why then. smile
