I've had a look on Camskill and there are a few different prices and similar tyre specs ranging from £198 to £137 . Which ones would you go for?

All worth a check for PSS prices. The prices have gone up a lot in the last year or so, at one point you could get the 245s for about £150!

Worth noting the 255s are cheaper (more common size I imagine) so for the rear you can save yourself some money and gain some extra meat by going 255s.

Needs to be 245s on the front.

I had an awful experience with ZZ3s, but seem to be in the extreme minority, the forum chap who bought them from me after a few hundred miles was perfectly happy with them on his Monaro, so I don't know what my problem was!

The MPSS is the best tyre for these cars, I'd argue even at stock power, given that 400bhp / lb ft through a 245 is still pushing it a bit... You get bigger rear tyres on a 320d (255/30/19 on the E92 era)... hehe

I have had a look about at the websites you listed Mr SturdyHSV and can only find the MPSS for 200 notes the other one on the Camskill site are MPS4S. Any ideas how they are compared to the MPSS? Camskills listing from last week has changed a fare bit as they aren't listing as many Michelin tyres at that size.

MPS4S are the MPSS replacement. Paid <£140 a tyre from Amazon for 245/40 R18 for MPSS recently, must be a dramatic step up for the 19s.

I've also got mpss on my monaro. Was just this morning checking tyre prices out and noticed the 4's being quite a bit cheaper. When my rears need replacing I'd still want them matching though so still £200 a corner frown

Think everyone has to be careful here, as some are mentioning MPS4 and MPS4S. These are two different tyres and may not realise!!

Believe the MPS4 to be successor to the MPS3, but the MPS4S is the true successor to the MPSS.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but not sure everyone picking up on that.

MPS4 are much much better than MPS3, a completely different type of tyre to the PS3 and pretty much a replacement for the MPSS. They are also only available up to 18"s
MPS4S are the new and apparently even better Michelin top dog (Apart from Cup tyres)

When thinking about tyres and pricing you should also consider that like for like grip wise the average Michelin lasts much longer. So a little more dosh will get you lots more. Supersports for example have a 300 tread wear rating. Thats just crazy, don't know how the do it TBH

Ive just had a full set on the R8 of MPSS after having only the rears - full set cost £840 fitted etc - this was about the cheapest I could get and matched the best I could get from BlackCircles ... even my guy said that the price of tyres in recent months has gone through the roof ( he had quoted me £100 less only 4 weeks before)

I was due to have two stuck on the back of mine this morning, unfortunately Michelin have bumped the delivery date back to Wednesday. When they are fitted I will have MPS4S on the back and MPSS on the front. I'll post some feedback after I've had them on for a couple of weeks.

Well, I've had the MPS4S on for a few weeks:

I'm very happy with them. I now have the MPS4S on the back with MPSS on the front, having previously had them on the back. Granted I've not been driving at ten tenths but with a mix of country roads and motorway driving I've not noticed any difference in feel to the MPSS, although they are definitely quieter. Apparently they are much better in the wet that the MPSS but I haven't had the opportunity to test this yet.

A good review here which I completely agree with: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/Michelin-Pilo...

As a road tyre I don't think you can do any better.

Mine has ZZ5s on and looking at the invoices, fronts since 2011 and rears since 2015. Still plenty of tread on rears but front sidewalls starting to cracking. Only done a few thousand miles so clearly standing doesn't help.

I know Michelins are the favoured option but got a new set of Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 3s to go on next weekend. Will report back comparisons with Avons which I am sure add to the floatiness!
