Vauxhall VXR8, the new bellend mobile?
Discussion
The OP's opinion on cars should be taken with a pinch of salt.
After all he thinks this is a kit car...

Thank you for being so informative.
Most people considered the subject ended in the Noble thread, I'll give you a clue, when people stop posting, generally it means that there is little else to say.
But hey, thanks for raising it in this completely unrelated thread, it's been very helpful.

Stop posting st then.
Doesn't seem your opinion on the VRX8 is the widely held view either. I've seen you on two threads and you've made a berk of yourself on both.
Don't want to talk about it anymore? Neither do I particularly, so here's a clue. End of subject means... End of subject.

It's an interesting point OP, but I think the relative rarity would probably prevent them gaining too much of a stereotype image.
I'd bet they'd be as susceptible to general stereotyping as any other loud car though, where loud = racing and dangerously anti-social, but few enough people even recognise them, so the likelihood of the great unwashed deciding 'oh look, that's one of those VXR8s, they're a chav car' I'd imagine is quite slim.
Ironically, that is their image in their homeland however, so it would at least be authentic
Interesting that it was moved from General Gassing to this forum. To be honest that would probably make for a far more interesting discussion.

Thank you Sturdy, on reflection I'd be inclined to agree.
I think it would have been a more relevant topic for general gassing rather than a specific owners section to get a more balanced view, obviously ignoring trolls like the guy above who seem to get increasingly and repeatedly abusive when someone doesn't share the same view, but hey I'm sure the moderation team had their reasons.
The more I look into these, the more I think they might make an interesting, if unusual replacement for he 335i I have just sold. I had been considering a Lexus ISF. I have another car for daily duties, so running costs are not a particular concern, but big bills considering it'll get a relatively small amount of use are.
Anyone got experience of both?

For your benefit then, let's assume that a 3 series is the biggest bell chariot going, and I'm keen to avoid the negative connotation moving forward.
Perhaps, save for a few helpful posters, this thread is answering my initial question perfectly.
I think the title of your OP isn't helping you attract serious debate, whilst I appreciate you didn`t ask to be dropped in this forum you have to accept that it will attract a little animosity. For your benefit then, let's assume that a 3 series is the biggest bell chariot going, and I'm keen to avoid the negative connotation moving forward.

The accusation could be levelled at many different cars but as stated previously its the drivers fault not the car. The VXR8 is relatively rare as stated and many owners ive met/chatted to on here and especially FB are mature drivers not the quintessential boy racer stereotype.
P.S I'm a Monaro owner not a VXR8 so neutral on the argument

Fair enough, moving of the thread was unfortunate. Although equally some of the posters could perhaps have helped by reading what I'd typed, not just the title. The accusation could be levelled at many different cars but as stated previously its the drivers fault not the car. Out of interest how may VXR8's are in the country?
Certain cars tend to attract certain drivers and certain stereotypes, not always accurate and not always representative of course.
I started to take notice of VXR8's, and it appeared that the next four I noticed were being driven in an overly (and I'm no angel by any stretch, where it is appropriate) spirited manner, certainly on the pulse raising side of what I'd say was acceptable on the road. The last example from the town centre...no excuses for that it was just a guy being antisocial, and a bellend.
I'm not suggesting this is representative of the majority of owners necessarily, but it has become noticeable.

I must confess it does feel like I've seen similar threads live in General Gassing until they petered out naturally. For example threads like:https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=10...
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=11...
don't appear to have been moved to the VAG or Mercedes forums, where I suspect they'd have been met with a degree of anger. I agree with you, they probably had their reasons.
