I always found the Fish , very helpful and knowledgeable , and friendly , and a quick good source of parts , same dilemma as where to go , i'm in herts and i don't fancy a long trek so looks like i'm doing my own servicing from now on , was there a chap in Hertford who did Mot's wonder if he services cars too ?
Stick100 is who you are thinking of, I think. He has been banned by Pistonheads but JamesHSV and Leigh1050 will have his number as I don't think you do Facebook.

By the way, I see that Roger and Andy have today announced that the Porsche side - Pro-Max Motorsport will also be closing. There was hope that Neil (who worked with them) would maybe take it over in some form, but I guess that path came to a dead end, as did Monkfish Performance. frown

The Walkinshaw option is about 3 hours plus round trip , not that i don't like driving my cars , it's a fair haul to get a service done normally just an oil change v me doing it if that makes sense

Obviously there is OZ Ebay for parts but you can also get a few things from RARE SPARES in Oz as well...

Do we know if Walkinshaw will even touch Monaros? My understanding is they are already stacked with routine servicing on the newer VXR8s so are unlikely to take on anything that's older and likely to block up their workshop.

Might start looking for a decent independent mechanic I can trust in Bedfordshire. If you know of anyone you can vouch for, please let me know.

Thanks, that's good to know. The key is to probably take it down when they aren't busy - autumn/winter.

Walkinshaw will definitely be looking after Monaro's as well plus will in the not too distant future be updating their website to show Monaro parts not just the VXR8 etc stuff they currently show.

but as others have said they are booked up until November at the moment anyway so not ideal for emergency work

but you will be able to buy Monaro parts from them and they will have a proper online shop like MF used to have at some point soonish.

Yay! My GForce anti-hop driveshaft CV joints have a bit of slack in them and was going to get them upgraded. Not sure what to do now.

Can anyone advise me on a company that works near North London that can handle a Monaro?

You guys have a pretty good resource here in collective knowledge with experienced and enthusiastic members. In my experience here, just ask a question and you'll usually receive some good pointers at the very least. No...?

As Jameshsv1 says, Stick100 is in Hertford. James has his number. smile

Failing that, look for American car specialists and warn them that your steering wheel is on the right. wink

The only reason why I didn't suggest Neil, is that the OP was looking for someone near N London.

That's a good idea, thanks, have found OCW American car repairs in North West London where I am based, will try them.

Hi Everyone,

Just looking to get my 2004 CV8 services post ProMax. I see AAS mentioned in the thread, can anyone tell me who/where they are?
Walkinshaw don't seem to keen on servicing Monaros for some reason.

Newcastle. Regularly working on Yankee stuff. And very familiar with Monaro and VXR8.
