I ran Johnson 2110s on my LSA for a little bit. A bit noisy for the initial startup but they were just like stock after. My stock LS7/LSA lifters were pitted after 20K miles revving close to 7k rpms.

FWIW and hopefully not tempting fate, would avoid Morels on a road car.
Just switched back to the Chevy Racing (LS7/Cadillac racing etc) lifters.
May have been a bad batch but the Morels would not stay pumped unless the engine was fully up to temp no matter what preload or oil was used. Noisey as hell when cold to the point of throwing the fueling out between the banks.

Fingers crossed new lifters now nice and quiet.

They are heading for the bin unless someone wants to try them 😂

Never had any issues with Morels or Caddy/LS7 lifters.

That said, it can be hard to know what's what with lifters...as the 2 sets of Morel's I did buy, came in un-marked boxes from what I recall. So they could have been anything !

Just to update the thread, I've gone for LS7 lifters (amongst a long list of other parts).

Thanks all for your input smile

I hope not, Im about to have them installed (link bar type), what oil are you using, my stock lifters are noisy, I theorize the push rod too short, but my oil pressure is also low when hot 1.5bar at idle using 30W oil, I want to switch to 40W, also installing HV melling pump.

Ill update next month

Yep its the link bars i've just pulled out.
Check your preloads on the current lifters if they are noisy.

I tried everything I could think of to get the Morels to work. Less preload, more preload, different oil grades etc. They would be fine straight after pushrod/rocker fitment, but after about a minute of runtime they'd start ticking. Would clear once the engine temp was up to operating.

Again may have been a dodgy batch as one bank was worse than the other so possibly a bad pair, and to Stevie's point they are completely unlabeled in non descript packaging. So hard to tell the origin.

Are you using stock rocker arms?

No, I'm on 1.7 YT Ultralites. I'm adjusting preload with push-rod length, so same principle for stock rockers.

Are you on stock top end?

Nice! Definitely check the lifter preload on the new setup. Otherwise fingers crossed yours hold up better than mine did.

Can lifters be changed without removing the heads, from under the valley cover?

Sadly not on an LS motor. Heads off every time.

Well....you could maybe replace them from underneath...but then that's probably engine, crank and camshaft removal lol.

Could debate which is easier ! if indeed it is even possible. I'm sure some could be if not all.
