My Monaro needs new strut top mounts. I eventually plan to rebuild the whole suspension but in the meantime will cheap Omega ones do for the time being? They look identical as far as I can tell, given that the cars share a lot of "DNA" as it were. It seems Omega owners are using Monaro bits on their cars so I guess it could go the other way too?

My reasoning is to spend as little on components as possible that will eventually be replaced with fancier ones.

I did Once cross reference the part numbers and they were the same but I've not had the need to fit any yet

Thanks guys. Just need to get the thing to limp on a bit longer on its hanging original suspension before I overhaul it properly. It's hilarious how bad the car feels compared to a well sorted Monaro biggrin

For the record the part numbers do indeed seem to cross reference. It has been around for over 30 years apparently!

I would highly advise buying the bearings and top spring retainers too. The retainers on my car were rusted and had split.

I'm surprised that they can even hold the weight of the car, with how thin they are.

Yep that's how mine looked. I bet water sits in them. May be worth drilling a little hole ?
