smile Enjoy! (Red is the fastest colour, you know)
I regularly pop up to north wales, some great driving roads around there.

Welcome to the forum, that looks like a nice car you have there.
Just incase you are unaware, your car is a Holden VZ CV8 Monaro. Vauxhall brought 142 of those into the country, and only 34 of those were Red. Over the years a few of those will sadly have been written off, so you really do have quite a rare car.
This was a very busy forum once, however people do still use it when they get stuck with an issue of some kind. There is also some activity on face book by all accounts.
Enjoy your car in the sunny weather.

wow thanks I didn't realise it I did pay quite a bit of money for it as it had one previous owner with 28k miles on it from https://www.dtperformancecars.co.uk/

they guy Daniel whos owns and runs the place is a really nice guy and has some very sweet rides and they are all premium motors as you would expect from a performance trader

it turns out it's the 354bhp standard model I did some checking it has the electronic throttle body damn and its had the monkfish performance pack on it too god only knows the bhp now biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

I would guess you have around 380 HP at the flywheel. The Focus pack was the same as yours but with headers, I think that was around 410+ HP at the flywheel.
I'm sure I will be corrected if I'm wrong.

That car looks like it's in exceptional condition. It must be one of the best late model red cv8s in the country.... just like mine.

That £550 a year road tax must hurt a bit though, I got the lower rate with my 05 plate.

Still, never mind, you won't see many 56 plates and with less than 30k on the clock. You have a great car there wink

thanks for the compliment but lets face it if you own a Monaro a few extra £ in tax a year is least of your worries biggrin

Yeah, to me the tax is an afterthought. I wanted the car so an extra £20 a month on top of a pre 06 car was neither here nor there.

when on my trip to wales I was going through a very built up area with buildings really close to the road I could hear a very slight ticking noise seemed to increase and decrease with road speed (sticking to limit ofc) it was barely noticeable sounded like a pepple stuck in the treads but there wasn't one I checked tyres any ideas ?

I get that sound from my car, it doesn't come from the engine, but it seems to be from around the bell housing / gearbox area.
Nothing to worry about, my car has been doing that for as long as I've owned it, which will be 11years next month.

The road tax sends me into a nuclear melt down, it beggars belief that something so simple has been made a complete mess. Anyway I keep my car off the road for winter, so in the end it's worth it. I wonder what the next tax system will be like?

Your tax seems like good value compared to ours I think ours is £540 This year and the island is only 34miles by 14 miles but on the upside we have no speed limit on our unrestricted roads.
