Drove the car yesterday and the idle suddenly jumped up to 1500 whist at idle and when you drive to pull the revs down it will miss or run poorly. Tried a batery reset and have changes the throttle body as i had a spare one but with no luck have tried to find any air leaks but cant find anything. The live data on the dash shows a 2.2-2.3g/hr at idle but this might be due to the increased engine speed any help would be great. The car is monaro with an LSA fitted.

My Wortec remapped '05 CV8 sometimes goes into a similar high idle if I show off it's exhaust noise, blipping the throttle at standstill.
Turn off the engine, restart and it's fine. It tends to do this when hot.

Mine won't return to normal idle it was just sat warming up and then suddenly the revs jumped up to 1500 and had to drive it home and when I took it out of gear to change down after pulling revs down in previous gear would jump back up to 2000 and when going up to around 3000 the revs drop very slowly.

Idle control valve on the side of the throttle body? or throttle position sensor (on the opposite side of the throttle body I think?)

Try cleaning them first.

I’ve just got to the bottom of this with mine, did what I said in my earlier post with TPS & ICV but it didn’t fix it. Mine was down to the inlet manifold gasket leaking.
