Just repeating myself.
Following my engine destruction I investigated and asked a lot of questions, if I understand correctly the LS3 crate engine has the correct trigger wheels for the VXR8.

The confusion comes because the LS2 fitted to the Monaro has the earlier trigger wheel setup, both LS2 but some differences.

Do check this and make sure you are happy, but if its correct as I believe it is the LS3 is a drop in and go job, which you will need to follow with remap, but it will run and drive to your chosen tuner.
Absolutely, he needs to know what he has, to find out what he needs or can use.

Not so. As I said already I have an LSA in mine albeit with a bigger blower.

Here’s one with the standard LSA

always thought they had a different gearbox bolt patter!

Want a lsa charger for mine!

As to reluctor wheels isn’t it black sensor for 24x and grey for 58x?

Yep agree with the oil woes...

24x on LS2s only came in 05-06 Corvette Z06, 05-06 Pontiac GTO (read Monaro) and I believe a similar date range of Cadillac CTS-V possibly, but I would imagine the R8s would be OK.

Also as above apparently yes, black sensor for 24x, grey for 58x, I didn't know that one smile

ALL LS BH bolt patterns are the same.

if you have square port heads, then shouldnt be any real difficulty fitting the LSA blower.

Anything’s possible. Mine came with an LS1 but it’s got a modified LSA in it now. It’s also had an LQ9 truck engine in it.

Labour rates is the killer in these situations so a drop in crate engine is probably the cheapest way to get it running.

To be fair it was obvious it was him simply because nobody else bothers constantly prodding you. It's a bit odd, did you have sex with his daughter or something?

If I did, he’s either very old or contacting us from beyond the grave.

Hi guys I am thinking of buying this engine from parts world performance.
It has the 58x trigger wheel which my car needs but I have no idea if it will fit.
Possibly the sump pan wont fit.

Chevrolet LS3 376/525 V8 Engine
SKU: 19301360
What do you get when you take Chevrolet Performance’s aggressive ASA camshaft – developed for the high-rpm world of circle-track racing – and slip it into an LS3 6.2L engine? The answer is 525 horsepower in one of our most powerful production-based crate engines. We call it the LS376/525 and if take-no-prisoner performance is what you’re looking for in your new Camaro or rest-mod Chevelle, this is it.

If you are sure yours is a 58x engine ( quick look at the crank/cam triggers will confirm ), then yes that engine will fit fine. Of course yes you may need to use your sump and pickup pipe, along with a few other items.
And the ecu will need re-tuned to suit.

The ls2 will be the easier swap (loom and ecu) but the crate engine gives you that bit more confidence. Tgeres quite a bit to convert from ls2 to an ls2

As for triggers broom, if that's insulting then come on! Trigger had the same broom (monaro) for 10 plus years but had 12 new handles (block) and 4 new heads (chargers)

This is not an insult its tongue in cheek
