due to the speed of the front seats , that’s why you buy the big boot cv8 with no internal boot release ... Doh ???? or a ute , oh s..t i have both ??
I have a big boot VXR, it has 2 internal boot releases. The glove box button, and the release pull behind the rear seat headrest.

And here it is....

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006-Vauxhall-Monaro-5-...

Wonder what it went for in the end, obviously a good deal less than £8k.

What a shock a rough looking car ended up with them.

I was at the auction yesterday and the top bid was £6800. This was a 'provisional' sale because it was below reserve, the catalogue results are updated by ACA in the week and the result be on there.

Quite a few Motorhub cars end up there, and sometimes fetch more at the auction than they've been advertised for!! Auction fever / poor research by bidders.

I took a few photos that I'll get off my phone to upload, it was even rougher than I expected. But it got a lot of attention, sounded good anyway. smile

If it was rough, what cost to return to good spec?

At least the dealer isn't hiking the price.

There’s a silver CV8 for sale over here with 84k miles on the clock for £6995.
It has been advertised for at least 6 months now and the seller was originally asking £9k.
I dare say if you flashed £6k in their direction it would be yours.

Looks to be in better condition than that one too.

Looking at the dealer photos it actually looks quite a tidy example.
That being said, I know from experience that photos can tell some porky pies!

I was at the auction to view and maybe bid on other cars but since a Monaro is a rare breed, I was curious to see how it would go. It was driven through and sounded great; I've had a VXR one for only a few months so it's difficult to judge comparative values with so few for sale.

Here's some close up photos I took.

The o/s front wing had rust coming through:

It appeared that it was the door that didn't match the rest of the car, it's paint was fresher.

Looking through the rear window, you could see the rear headrest seams had come apart, both of them, as well as other seams. Here's one:

The n/s door handle had missing paint:

The final results aren't up yet so it may have sold, but seeing as it has been relisted on ebay by Motorhub, it appears that they didn't accept the top bid of £6800 (including buyers premium = £7289). The seller would have got £6800 - 6% (+ VAT) = £6310.

Considering it's condition and mileage, is the amount bid for an auction about right?

Edited to add - Results are up now, displaying the original estimate so it didn't sell:

Was looking for a monaro for ages - plenty for sale at unrealistic OTT prices ALL were rusty bins yet the seller would not be realistic on the selling price?? just take a look at Ebay Completed listings Most were unsold on only one sold at £5\k ish Most people on this forum were slagging me off regarding the cars prices -HAHA - I eventually bought a Rust Free Camaro for less than Half the price of a rusty Monaro - Oh well smile
I tried thumbup

Well considering its condition, it was NOT a VXR model, 82k miles on it, more expensive VED (reg. date after March 2006), and it was an auction, a top bid of £6800 indicates good cars are worth quite a bit more!

Why look at rusty ones if you didn't want one? Oh, yes to get one cheap...…..

So the moral of that story is.... if you want a clean Monaro don’t be a cheap censored ?

So essentially, you looked at some cheap ones, and they were rusty. They you looked at some expensive ones, but didn’t want to pay that money, so you brought a cheaper car.

Totally fair enough, but that’s hardly a reflection of the value of Monaros

Seriously tired of this prick.
What’s the crack? Why hang around forums for cars you don’t own? It’s a bit weird to be fair?
There’s a lot of cars out there that I wished I could afford/own. Until the day I do, I won’t hang around their forums like some peado in a playground. Whether you have knowledge of these cars, their engines or both, have you really got nothing better to do with your time than lurk around passing various comments to try and upset owners on here? I have no idea how old you are but if your anything over 14, maybe it’s time to leave the bedroom and see what’s about in the big wide world. Other than my Monaro and R1 and custom van, I have 4 cracking kids, a dog and a mrs with the best tits you’ve ever seen (or probably never in your case).
Get out there pal, there’s more to life than being a complete bellend
