I believe it’s rarer than that.I bought no9 from the importer Rod Clausen brand new in 2001, just before he returned to Oz. I think it may have only been 12 GTS-R VT2’s that came over.

Kj51aez....

I own that now, have done for the past ten years...

Brutal car, supercharged, making 580 lbs/ft below 1500 rpm, with that 3.9 diff!

My utes running 670 horse can't remember torque figures and a 3.9 diff, I should have fitted a 3.7.
I was told go for the 3.9 by the guys in OZ building the diff, I should have stuck to my gut instinct and fitted 3.7.

I still have the 3.46 original diff in the Monaro, plan has always been to just make enough power that the diff isn't too much of an issue hehe

Good to know it's still about, I sold it in 2005 to a PH'er on here with when it had about 23k miles I think. If I recall he had them up new at just over 50k, and I got him down to 40k as it was the last one he had and he was going back to Oz..I had driven the Autocar blue long term test GTS on demo which convinced me to get one, and went for the R as it was 70 more horses and had climate rather than straight air con etc etc. I had it de-catted at one point, sounded immense, and was the closest I could find to a four door TVR at the time ( having owned 4).. chose it over the E39 M5 which tells you how much I fell in love with it!

For me the 3.9 is better for where I live but I'll get around to a 3.7 just can't stop buying other things. Still have a nice twin plate clutch here for you ...

Mine also has the original 3.46 and taller MM6 ratios. Definitely doesn’t need shorter gearing.

Re gear ratios, I found this:

3.9 works perfectly with a Centrifugal charger, I wouldn't want a lower ratio. PD charger is obviously different.

The rarer the better! I know a number were written off and one
was exported and sold at auction in the US or Canada for crazy money. It would be good to know for sure how many were left.
I ve got one of these sitting in my yard for the last 6/7 years maybe
