Then put a 90deg fitting at the block. Either way...if the OEM sensor fitted in there, a hose will be a piece of piss to fit.

I doubt you'll get such a fitting, as it would be extremely unusual.

Should be easy for someone to knock up a bit of aluminium with a female thread in it and weld a -12 adapter to it to create one though. Or in steel/stainless.

Although -12 is rather large ?

I think you’re right and the description is unclear, think it’s 8, have to check it when it gets here.

Think Automotive can make up an oil line with a fitting for your sensor. The Pro Gold hose range is quite neat.

Thanks, I’ll take a look.

I’ve also realised it’s all well and good having an adapter but as it’s designed for an oil cooler, the “out” side needs to be connected to the return “in” side to complete the oil circuit. I can either T a sensor into the loop or use the 1/8 npt sensor port.

I’ll work it out.

Slight rethink. Just ordered one of these through Summit:

Not to be used for an oil cooler and I don’t need one but the 16mm adapter I’ve bought should screw into it and the sensor into that. This also works on front sump applications like the Monaro so hopefully problem solved for about £100.

Now need to work out what to do with the oil cooler adapter which I no longer need!

This pic is a good shot...

ie...if this sensor fits there. There is no possible way a hose fitting cannot fit in the same place. If anything it would take up less room.

For those interested, this is what I went for in the end. Says it fits all LS engines (except LSX), including front or rear sump. Fitting for sensor came from EBay (link above).







I now have a spare oil cooler adapter if anyone needs one, can also be used as a supply for turbos. If you want it, PM me.
