Does anyone know of a good upholstery outfit near Cheltenham to do a stitching repair on my rear seat?
Nothing big but the stitching just 'burst' on the top corner. Ideally someone that can stitch it from the outside as its only about three inches long and I don't want to remove the entire seat if possible.
Also is there anyone in the UK stocking parts for the LS2 in my 'VXR 500' ?
Just had to buy pulleys (run bearing) in Australia (two months for delivery).
In particular the Harrop blower in case I need to replace it.

The rear bench and back are really easy to take out, I'd imagine it'd be a far easier job to do well without the rear window right in the way etc.
They burst because they sit in the sun which dries the thread out and as they expand / contract with temperature changes they pull apart, happens to most of them.
I replaced my rear bench and had the windows tinted to stop the worst of the UV, has been fine living outside for 9 years since

Yep, as above, the rear seat needs to come out for a proper job.
Dead easy though. The bottom bench comes out first, then I think the back rest might have 2 bolts at the bottom and then slides up a bit to release.
Once you've spun the back rest around, you'll see how its all fastened on, and might choose to have ago yourself.

Do you have any pictures of the busting stitch?
As a car interior trimmer I get customers who come to me with stitches coming undone, sometimes this can be done by yourself (Unless it requires you to undo other panels to sort it out). If it's not a large stitch try attempting it yourself.

I've just dropped mine off to be repaired. The trimmer said that they have used cotton when they were made which is ok in Aus but not here with our damp climate. He demonstrated by pulling my seats apart with ease! I'll let you know when i get them back with pics and prices. Based near Chertsey.
Yeah you can see the cotton stitching from the picture. Normally with any kind of upholstery or car interior Nylon threads need to be used. They are a lot stronger and won't give in with time. (Nylon thread is a bit like fishing wire). Yeah do show us once it's done. Seems like a quick fix.

I have the same problem on my Monaro, and I live near Chertsey. Can you let me know who did the repair for you - assuming they did a good job! I've just dropped mine off to be repaired. Unfortunately the guy was really good and did some seats for an indy tv program but he went on a bender before telling me he couldn't do it.
Spent 4 months chasing him to get the seats back with a lot of wasted trips in the mean time I bought some secondhand seats but still have the stitching problem 
I haven't found anybody yet to do them but then I'm probably a bit wary
