Good afternoon lads and ladies.

I guess this subject has been gone over before but I'm in need of some help.

Had a few issues with things like internal power sockets etc, after a bit of reading on google I discover that these cars are very sensitive to their batteries.
Checked mine, although fairly new, always running at around 15volts and never gets above 65% charged according to the engineer mode.
Its was a basic 70 amp Yuasa, I understand they need a "Silver" battery so I purchased a Bosch S5008 ( Sealed Calcium ) which I had read was a good choice for these cars.
But, is now charging even higher (15+ volts) and struggles to get above 61% charged.
So I'm at a bit of a loss.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Mick

Could it be a sign of your alternator failing?

are you able to put a trickle charger on it , see if it helps , 65 could be a bit low , but 15 volts says it’s charging , i maybe wrong but was there a charging fault issue with the r8 , plus do you have any battery drains going on , turn car off no interior lights etc , disconnect the battery put a 12v brake bulb between battery negative lead and battery negative terminal it should light up but not be very bright , is the car driven often if it’s left for a while without being driven then it’s driven but not very far miles wise then battery won’t fully charge

Thanks for the advise.
Quick update, I had the battery on charge over night and all seems to well with the volts and charging now although the aux power sockets have not come back on yet, may be they will after a couple of running cycles.

sounds like an issue with your sockets rather than any thing else ?

If you're talking about the power socket in the bin between the seats, this is only live with the ignition on.
