My 04 CV8 Monaro finally decided to join the 100,000 mile club on a recent drive - something that I obviously knew was going to happen sooner rather than later... and I was wondering what mileage other similar vehicles had reached after almost seventeen years on the road?

My commodore is on 138000. Still makes 443 bhp with a cam and bolt ons. Last time I measured compression with this cam in (overlap) it did 170 psi.

My car is coming up to 70,000.
My plan is to put 200,000+ on the clock.

My 04 CV8 has recently ticked past 65k. I've every intention of seeing it well past the 100k mark though having only done 25k in 10 years it'll take the best part of another 15 years to get there !

Went past 117k in my 04 VXR last week, not much more going on it as it should be off to the new owner within the next month. Had it 9 years as of yesterday and covered about 44k.

My old 08 VXR8 hit 100k a couple of years ago. I bought it with 2.5k on the clock and managed all the rest myself. And it was supercharged from 30k onwards.

2006 CV8 Monaro, currently at around 58k kms / 36k mls.

After lots of calls and paperwork, I managed to get it insured via a special exotic/future classic car policy, which reduces my annual insurance premium by about 75%,
but limits me to 7000 kms / 4300 mls per year, and requires me to do a lot of other stuff, like always park it in the garage, keep it as original as possible,
always have a second car insured with them as my daily, only person allowed to drive the car is me etc.
So mainly rules that I am more than happy to oblige to smile

I could in theory increase the mileage limit to a maximum of 9000 kms / 5600 mls per year,
though I think I will stick to those 7000 kms for the foreseeable future, as it seems like a good way of keeping me from
putting an excessive amount of miles on the car, or do other "dumb" things with it. smile

I mean I would seriously love to road trip my Monaro all across Europe, but I know if I truly want to keep it forever,
I will be better off in the long run if I only drive it about once week, and ofc keep it off the road during winter!

Every time I do eventually take it out on a sunny and warm weekend morning though, I drive it at least two hours / 80kms.
Very much looking forward to being able to do that again, the car has been in winter hibernation since November 8th, but hopefully I can start off into my first full Monaro season sooner than later.

So it is unlikely mine will reach 100k miles anytime soon, but we'll get there eventually smile
And I am so looking forward to every single one of those 7000 kms per year!

I bought a black pre face lift Omega MV6 years ago with 10k on the clock. I sold it 6 years later at 65k to help fund my Monaro.
That Omega was a fantastic car and highly under rated, it's no surprise that I regret selling it to this day....

My V8 Calais has just under 110,000km/68,000miles on it, but it is only four and a half years old. I think the 161,000/100,000 is probably about 4-5 years away as I do fewer kms than the first owner though am planning a 3,000km jaunt at Easter.

I worked at a met police workshop around 2001. ALL of the mv6 omegas they had ended up with porous heads.

I have heard of that problem but only recently, that does sound a bit terminal !
My car did suffer constant tyre wear on the inner front wheels, I had the car to various tyre outlets to fix it but without success.
Oddly enough a guy who worked in the North Yorks police workshop fixed the issue for me straight away, top bloke.

Just wondering if you use it as a daily runner, do you have less problems with the car than we others that spend a lot of time not running them much. ie electric glitches due to battery not charged daily

Like wise. No electrical glitches here either. And my car gets very little use.

Just wear and tear, luckily my step son owns his own garage and with this car he is now an expert with these cars lol. IMO cars are made to drive, love everything about these cars, always wanted one and got the opportunity in 2014 and not looked back. Never had any electrical issues.
