If my car has been left for more than a day or two, when I next get to it the drivers seat is fully rearward.

Previous owner told me it did it if you kept adjusting the seat, but I’ve set it and left it. Even when I put it back where I want it, it’s just a case of sliding it forward.

Anyone else had this and anyone know of the reason / a cure?

Have you adjusted the seat then saved it to position 1 or 2 if you've not saved it I think the seat moves to the position allocated to the key you are using till you over right the setting

Well, I’ve set the memory a few times but I’ll be honest I haven’t done it the last couple of times I’ve found it like that.

Guess I’ll try it again in case the memory setting is lost and see what happens.

I don't think the Monaro is that sophisticated. I don't recall my LS2 having an settings stored by the keys and I know my 04 VXR doesn't.

Can see how that's a nuisance as sliding the seat forward again must add about 15 minutes to your journey time hehe

Believe it or not, there is a little controller onboard the seats, and you can jab the buttons on the side to get fault codes flashed out of it. How to do that I do not remember though, it was in the workshop manual I think scratchchin

I’m still much tempted to replace the front seats anyway and then wouldn’t have to face the long wait to get the seat far enough forward to reach the pedals and start the car biggrin

But would like to get the standard seats sorted if I can.

Anyone know where you can find a free workshop manual download or am I gonna have to splash out 15 quid on eBay?

Put seats in desired position, remove fuse.

Snag there is I'm 6'3" so the seat sits relatively rearward, albeit nowhere near the rear of its travel.

If you remove the fuse, when you tilt the seat there's no room to get the kids into the back cos the seat won't traverse forward any more.
