that half the problem ..weight ..the motor is so slow its not worth having in the fist place ...IMO

would be good to get 70kgs of weight out of the car ...

you know what its like if you have a passenger all the time then go out for a drive on your own the car feels quicker .......weight ...not good

Mark, I'm after the same seats now, how'd you get on with Cobra and the subframe?

I've found a couple of US GTOs that have the Misanos in, and a subframe for each side made by a US company called Planted Technology which is what I believe they used to mount them. They appear to fit in very nicely, and I think Cobra may even do a custom logo on it, just trying to find out about that (Monaro text perhaps...)

When I saw the carbon backs, I had a suspicion that you'd already have looked into this wink

At the time I could not find anywhere that could do the mounts
But would still like to do this smile

Seats are high on my agenda, I'd probably be up for going in on any custom fab required to implant standard racey seats.

I've spoken to Carnoisseur as they seem to have the lowest price on the 'Lux' (CF backed) version, currently an eye watering £810 each.

They don't think they get any discount on multiple orders, but will check. Also, we can have Monaro stitched in to the headrest instead of Cobra, the proper logo may be a bit tough due to copyright issues, but I've e-mailed Holden brand enquiries just in case wink

I think they can stitch in pretty much anything, so if you want 007 on your headrest, you can do thumbup just obviously not the actual bond trademark logo wink

EDIT:

From my searchings, as you suggested earlier they do appear to weigh just 13kg, so a lot lighter than the stock sofabeds, and from the install pictures I found, you appear to sit a lot lower, which would be nice.

007 - get some Corsa VXR Recaro seats, they pop up occasionally on the net and granted they are not cheap but they are good. Make sure you get the runners as the seat flips forward and slide forward as well in one motion allowing easy access to the back. It also returns to the same position when pushed back which is not something most seats will do.

Brackets look to be about $140 each side, then getting the things shipped over adds another $145.

Will have to e-mail about shipping discounts, but if there's none, it works out as ~£260 for the brackets (ignoring possible import taxes...).

Do we have any members who would be willing to fabricate some for slightly less?

Images of the brackets here, obviously some measurements would be more useful I imagine. They're made for multiple types of seat, so have more fixing holes than would be needed.

There doesn't sound like there's much to save on the seats, so possibly not much group buy pressure...

Oh yes definitely, makes a change for them to be a UK company, might as well take advantage of it!

Seems like the brackets are going to be the fun bit, might have to get back in touch with Cobra if they sounded willing when you last spoke to them?

If anyone is after the non-CF ones, there's a set of 2 with the gloss black back used in the classifieds, only £550!

It would be non-CF for me. Is there something special about these cobras?

Caravaggio Daytona?

Possibly fit a GTO if the sliders are similar to C5/6 corvette.

Available with many different covering materials, stitching and logos. Repleat with an eye-watering price, but that's the usual way with anything nice.

Anything that increased headroom and cut weight whilst retaining the recliner would be good.
