Not exactly nothing but definitely not enough to go in with just optimism! hehe

A few questions -

1/ Can anyone recommend a good pre-purchase inspector? Someone that knows their onions!

2/ Average yearly running costs. I'm hoping for £2-2.5K as a max. Realistic?

3/ Thoughts on future values? Yes I'm sorry to ask but it's absolutely part of the decision-process. I've had pretty positive results on my past cars (205 GTI, M3, E500) and I'm sitting good on the 2 x 964 Carrera 2's bought for a relative song 5-7 years ago. I'd like the same again obviously but understand nothing is guaranteed. To me, the Sagaris is rare and special enough we could be looking at £100K within a few years?

I promise I'd use it!.....Don't shoot me for caring about question 3!

Thanks Folks,

Ali

From my experience you are looking at about 10% increase in value per year at the moment - enough to negate the running costs for sure

Sold my Sag on Tuesday for £77k .... But my Tuscan Convertible is far better value for money and the roof comes off smile

You can't beat the power of Pistonheads if you are selling a TVR thumbup

Is that the highest price paid for a Sag so far ??? I can see from a pic of ur Sag it's very very nice.. Was it factory standard and simply excellent condition or did it had upgrades that helped tgat value ??

1 - Most TVR dealers will do an inspection - depends where you are located
2 - Depends what the issues with the car you buy are
3 - Assume a 5-10% growth rate per year. It will be in spurts. This year has been a bit flat so far.

Mine will still cost you £80k
All sports car prices will be low at this time of year . The new TVR will not make any difference to "classic" TVR prices (that's if it ever happens and it won't be a proper TVR IMHO and at best will only be a good imitation of a TVR ) . Low mileage (under 10k) in pristine condition will still attract a premium price because of supply and demand but unfortunately with the current exchange rate will probably go aboard.
PS The Sagaris was design by Peter Wheeler not Nikolai Smolenski and it wasn't the last production car sold.

I did indeed use the term bling Keith and I stand by it - why shouldn't I smile

None the less, your car is sold and its sold to someone who appreciates that to get one of the best cars they needed to pay very strong money.

Well done with your sale and good luck with the Tuscan sale. Strong money but top car. biggrin

Slightly off topic but why are you 'selling up' TVR wise? Getting something else?

Looking to move house... I wish I could sell the house as easily as selling my TVRs. I'll keep my Chim, because I use it most days in Summer. I did less than a 1000 miles in both the Sag and the Tuscan last year. Running 3 TVRs gets expensive for an old age pensioner smile .

For running costs I got mine two years ago and thought I'd keep tabs on key items. Mines had been laid up for a couple of years so I expected seals etc to be needing done. The first service changed out quite a lot that was wrong/worn so it was a big hit.

Anyway you'll find figures etc here - http://craigmcateer.co.uk/sagaris/running-stats/ It's a work in progress so don't slag it off too much.

Being a comparative newcomer to TVRs, the first time I have had the opportunity to have a really good look at a Sagaris was last weekend at Burghley.

What incredible cars they are "in the metal", so much presence on the road.

They represent so much car for comparatively little money when compared to what else you can get for the same amount. They are way out of my league but I'd have one in a heartbeat.

That's an awful lot of new houses in and around the Preston Area, its a busy part of the UK as it is, more Lancashire countryside being swallowed up then by housing estates. eek

My Reflex charcoal 4.5litre will be up for sale in the next couple of weeks. Booked in for its 12k service and then it's getting listed. Still has circa 12 months warranty from TVR power.

Has cost me ~ £2,000 + whatever this years service will cost. Selling for a deposit on my first home.
