Sagaris as a daily driver
Discussion
Hi all; after a bit of advice.
I loved the Sagaris when it came out but for some reason it never happened.
I am now looking for a car to get around in day to day - town and motorway, perhaps 6000 miles per year - and wondered whether a Sagaris could do this.
Would it be hugely uncomfortable and tiring? Or would it break my heart with breakdowns and running costs?
Any advice would be welcome

TVR chassis don't like salt or constant dampness . TVR paint is soft compared to production models and likely to get stone chips . The leather interior is soft and will wear quicker than other cars . So if you want it keep it in good condition be prepared to spend money and re-sprays and re-trims and chassis painting/protection.
A sag is an attention grabber not something you may want every day from certain elements like the police or criminals .

Generally Yes.
But its Not Funny to Drive in Rainy conditions (for me its like driving on ICe) and daily traffic jams....
Havent Used it in Winter until Now, because that seems nearly impossible to me-too much Power on the back.
So, if you will Not need it in Winter and your daily Drive is more than 15km (to get the Engine up to temp.) You can use the sagaris as daily driver.
6000 miles per year will be no problem for a maintained sagaris.

I've had a Sag a and my only car for 18 months now but live in London and have to commute by other means for the sake of my sanity and keeping TreVor scratch n bump free.
Would I use it as a daily driver... No.
Would it manage it... Easily
Car has been as reliable as any form of transport I've ever owned and a damn site more in some cases. But using it as a daily will not be fun, they're a pig to drive until warm, in winter it can take a life time to get up to temperature, speed bumps in a town have to be taken at zero miles an hour and if you are anything like me you'll hate to park it in anything but an individual garage in the most secure part of town.
On the plus side for it being a daily driver, they are dirt cheap to run - tax is cheap, insurance for me is far cheaper than insuring a Prius in London, servicing costs are more than reasonable particularly when compared to other similar performing cars. Only downside on the costs will be the miles vs depreciation, particularly if they keep going the way they have been over the last few years.
In conclusion if you don't care about the depreciation and have the patience when she's cold then do it. The car will not let you down.

I did use my Tuscan for a regular commute to work (12km) last year including winter. To do so I fitted an independant heating system from Webasto and, very important, isolated the oil tank being able to achieve reasonable oil temps. I had the oil checked after that period by a labatory which quoted all normal but high fuel content in oil. As the engine is all good from the emissions readings I believe this was due to high number of starts and still low oil temps below 80C. Although I had the heater fitted giving starts at around 40C coolant temps in down to -10C ambient the oil was still cold obviously. The engine does not like it, well, I didn‘t like the noise and tight feel of it when cold. So my advise would be don‘t do it. But get the oil tank isolated, this helps getting the oil warmer more quickly, so fun is starting earlier!
