My Sag is due it’s MOT. I acquired the car two years ago and when MOT’ing it last year discovered it had the cats removed by the previous owner. Local specialist got it to PASS ok smile. I did get feedback that it was running a little rich. I am not a mechanic so use professionals for whatever needs doing (apart from unblocking my windscreen washer jets).

Anyhow, question is; Should I stick with de-cat setup or invest in cats? What about a completely new exhaust setup to get a few extra hip etc.

I would welcome views from people who have experience of both set ups.

Our local mot station is happy if you have them “in the car” (boot) I wouldn’t reinstall them as I like the flames 🔥

I had mine removed when one of them started to break up.

I noticed an improvement in low down torque and yes a few more pops and bangs.

Mine will be staying out.

The days of the friendly mot station might be numbered. The station I use insists on cats being fitted to any car presented for test which requires them. If the car should have cats, and they're removed, the car fails the test now whether it meets the gas limits or not.

My Sag is De'Catt'd with Clive F rear pipes. Pops and Bangs like crazy and is bordering on the obscene noise wise.

Very wearing on a long journey, after 50 plus miles you are pretty much fed up with it, but its a toy and it makes me smile a lot. Plus the days of being able to get away with such things are numbered, enjoy it while you can!!!
