Hi chaps any idea why the dash comes up with fuel sensor?

Come on guys, anybody knows the answer. My Tam is showing the same code erratically with no effect...so far! Thanks in advance, appreciate your help.

I always thought it was a dodgy sensor in the tank (total pain to get to). I've lived with my intermediate fault code for over 10 year, just don't rely on the displayed number of litres even though they look believable most of the time. Zero the miles at petrol station and fill to brim. Circa 250 miles per tank on motorway - 80 on the track smile

Had this too. Removed old sender and it looked ok. On testing there were a few erratic resistance readings across the track.

New sensor fitted and no more alarms. Good linear readings as tank level drops too.

How big a job was it to change the sensor?

Not a massive job but still awkward first time around. I reckon I can do it in under 4 days now hehe

The biggest problem is refitting the new one as you will never remember the way the old one slid out!!

I could provide a rough step by step if it helps.

We've now replaced the sensor in the tank. This is a bad procedure because the tank is divided by baffles and the sensor is in the middle part. My mechanic first spent some time with an endoscope to see the structure of the tank and how it got to the sensor. The sensor is pushed in at two rails on the right and left and then clipped firmly.

It works fine and no more fault messages in the display.

You should test your new sensor before you start the procedure!
