Let’s assume some does simply want to change from their Sag to something else - what would you buy instead for the same money, rarity, excitement......that does not depreciate rapidly in value?

F-Type is quite nice but lots of them around, Aston ?

I am struggling to think of something that gives the same buzz.........
From my short but sweet stint of Sag ownership, buy a T350 and pocket the 35k.

I suppose a Lotus Exige would be a possible alternative to the Sag for thrills and rawness.

Exige, Ultima, T350, fettled Aston, maybe a Marcos, maybe a few other Lotus....

I'd still rather keep the Sagaris. Its noisy, too hot, cramped.... My god I love it.

The GTR is the exact opposite.

It's a really difficult one to which there isn't an answer. The choice out there leaves me cold.

If you want a fairly compact, reasonably fast, good handling, fairly light, individual and distinctive car, what is there? The Porsche Cayman GT4 would do it for me although not as individual and distinctive as a lot of people would like.

I sold my 5.5 Chimaera earlier this year for various reasons. A car that was rocket ship fast, pretty raw and handled as good as a TVR could. For good reason I bought a Boxster S, yes you can laugh but there wasn't much out there. I wanted something that was easier to live with, reasonably fast, reasonably light, (1.3 tonnes) and most importantly for me, it had to handle outstandingly which it does.

I will say, I do love Exiges but, access is a killer for a tall person!

Here's a nice Exige Cup 430 in Vivid Green which is a very siimilar hue to that Sag in Jag F1 Green :-

https://www.lotuscars.com/en-GB/lotus-pre-owned/#3...

The bad news... hardly a snip at £85k. However, more normal Exige Sport 350s are much cheaper.

Personally I really fancy an Elise Cup 250, but that would be in addition to the Sag rather than a replacement. Four cylinder yes, but still a perfect tool for useable fun on the road without massive horsepower. 3.9 sec to 60 is perfectly adequate. The problem is I would get into serious bother sanctioning a third car, but at least I know I can fit in it, so that's one positive....

Well, the price of a little lotus!

The car I had a very long session in at Brands was a brand-new 260 cup which I believe was 43K at the time. An absolutely brilliant handling car. I think I had to be pulled out of it for two reasons, one, I didn’t want to give it up and two, I could hardly get out on my own because it was such a tight fit!

With Sag's holding their price quite well, it wont be long before an AMG GT-R or a Maclaren 570S will be in reach. This does make you think. Different to the Sag but surely an enjoyable option.

Freaky you should say that - I took this today at lunchtime when I collected my Sag from service:

The Mclaren is so much larger when you see them both together.

I said the 12C cross over price I may be interested..... I'm not. 12C is a much better car. I don't care.

Very nice. Can't be many 1 owner Sags out there now.
I was thinking about Exige S3 just before lockdown but never got a chance. My worry was also about entering/exiting the car not because I'm tall but because I've got a bad back and seem to remember about 20yrs ago struggling to get in and out of an Elise biggrin

I went from my 4.3 t350 to an AMG GTS, not quite a gtr but as a daily the gtr really is to harsh. The AMG I find is very much a grown up TVR. It can be a comfy quiet cruiser but it's also an exceptionally quick and very playful car, it's pitched right up against the 911 so has a lot to live up to and it shines.
It shares a lot of the theatre of the tvr, not as loud obviously. It also has race mode evil
I looked at many cars before buying, r8 v10, f-type, mac 570, 911 etc but the merc had the best combo of theatre, rarity, practicality and running costs versus all of them and I really wanted something different which is what I loved about my t350.

That Jaguar F1 Racing Green car is up at £72,900, 20k miles with six owners - https://www.jzmporsche.com/used-vehicle-details/TV...

The ad states that there was only one in this colour - can that be right? I remember the Racing Green car which was this colour. Is it the same car? This was their ittle promo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tZF4OF3Ay4

I still love that vid to this day yes
My uncle purchased a F1 racing green car New back in 05 after selling his Ultima. I remember it vividly as it was only slightly longer than my old S2 rs turbo at the time. I’d love to own one of these one day in the future!. The colour is simply wonderful. cloud9

Nice to read feedback from someone who has made a switch. GTS is also somewhat cheaper than GTR

All the TVR alternatives are either significantly more complex or replaced by newer / better models ,on a regular basis. The T car TVR is simply irreplaceable in our modern risk averse environment,so values will over time increase just like old Astons.
Until nobody gets excited by them.bouncesmile

How about an Evora Sport 410 as a Sag alternative?
