How about an Evora Sport 410 as a Sag alternative?
Are they easier to get in and out than an Exige?

I left one a long way behind on track, and I'm no great peddler.

No slight on your driving but an Evora should be great on track and certainly shouldn’t be, “left behind “.

To be fair to the owner, I'm on Yoko AD08 tyres, and running ~40bhp more. I would hope to leave it behind....

.. back to the OP`s point, doubt if anyones questioning the unique and desirable quality of the Sagaris but its certainly a buyers market at the moment.. not forgetting the additional three listed on ebay.. plus a couple on AutoTrader.

You can't compare a Tvr to much, if your after something like a tvr your only option is a tvr.

The only thing I can think of that comes close to a tvr in terms of drama

Is a lambo performante.

As CliveF proved with his Sag you can go from 355hp (typical std output for a Sag) to over 400hp without touching the engine internals (well save for a change of caamshaft) .. 380 should be doable for most bolt on mods smile

As Clive found out, they are saddled with one of the most restrictive exhausts you will see on a performance sports car! The main reason a good Tuscan S makes nearly 20hp more than a Sag in std spec is the better exhaust it has.
Did someone say Clive F exhaust? smile - total excuse for a pic

ACT carbon airbox and trumpets, ACT DeCat pipes, Clive F exhaust = 380bhp on the nose

Don't expect it to make track noise limits though evil

Very nice.

One query - can it get through an MOT with decat?

I've put an Akrapovic 100 cell sports cat on my Mini which passes an MOT. When I had my Cossie I grew tired of having to switch exhausts every time it came to MOT time when it was running the de rigueur mongoose s/s system. I've tehrefore not been inclined to decat the Sag.

Nope won't go through the MoT with a Decat. But there are ways, will personal message.

To be honest my Sag is probably too loud. Its a bit silly really, the pops and bangs are insane. On a long run its very wearing, but as a fun toy its highly smile educing

I get some pops / crackles from the Sag with the standard exhaust, which don't sound too 'artificial'. I'm happy with the lower-key tunes it plays (if it is physically possible to be lower-key - though colour plays it's part whistle).

The Mini on the other hand is different. You get the odd really loud bang or crack interspersed with little duck-fart burbles. If you press the Sport button though it sounds like Armageddon (glad it is not like that permanently, but it is fun in short bursts).

It was suggested that I get one of the RG exhausts for my Sag a long while ago, but I think they are perhaps a little too OTT:

That was Clive's old exhaust. He then created a new silencer and spend ages tuning the removable baffles, a loud set and a not so loud set.

Good excuse for another photo - After an engine rebuild (4.1 Litres), with a SS airbox, and a Joolz map, it develops 420 BHP. I was lucky enough to buy it last year

A friend of mine bought a new Sagaris in Cascade Indigo but it had tan interior, yours looks black from the pic. Can't be more than a couple in that colour though

What was the option cost at purchase for Cascade paint - was it painful? My Reflex Charcoal was £1,850 and I'm glad I stumped up for it as I still love it after 15 years.

Garry. No idea, but do know 1/2 litre of paint cost me £250 frown

God that looks good.
A McLaren has just been repainted in this colour. As a lottery win I'd have a McLaren in the garage but in this colour the Sag just makes it look like the Mac is trying too hard.

Can answer my own query on Sag Cascade paint option price, after digging this out of my archive - £3,525.

Thanks for sharing, an expensive option when compared with Chameleon or Pearlescent paint which can look equally as good. Interesting some of the other option prices as well.

They don't list Spectraflair on there, but I think it was up there with Cascade as regards cost and £600 per litre is something in the back of my mind.

However... Interest peaked, and search engine spun - www.specialistpaints.com
Spectraflair Silver £429.99 per litre
Cascade Indigo £399.99 per litre
Reflex Charcoal £399.99 per litre

Just going to order a touch up pen as mine is getting a little claggy. Glad I had a hunt as previous supplier (www.tvrpaint.com) seems to be out of action.

Specialist Paints seem to have all the fancy stuff covered too so a good resource and aailable right down to pen size quantities.

Meanwhile, still 7 Sags for sale, but none of them in any of the fancy colours available on the above wesite. Tenuous link get to back on topic...
