Anyone know the T350t at Fernhurst TVR please?

Unfortunately I know nothing about this car but it does look nice. I considered looking at this one when I was on my quest. I found another T350T in the mean time. Interior looks really nice too but I'm not a black wheel person. Personal preference, I know . They look to be in good nick though.
Aircon is a must (this one has it) although no engine rebuild. (Not mentioned anyway) That could give you some wiggle room on the price. I'd speak with Simon (really nice guy) and book a visit, if you haven't done so already.

Hi Doug, no problem at all. I had a Chimaera 450 for 8 years and loved it. Spent a lot of money making it as reliable and 'future-proof' as possible, so selling it was a real wrench. However, I'm not getting any younger and I've always really liked the look of the T350. And the T350T is the rarest of them all. Time to take the plunge.
I bought mine in July this year and found it here on PH. It's an honest car with 50k on the clock and no engine rebuild. The seller was a really nice guy too, which helps. Always warmed up properly and this one is an ex-demonstartor. Some say that TVR paid better attention to the build quality of the demonstrators but this may be an old wive's tale, who knows?
Make no mistake, the Speed 6 is VERY different. Gone is the lovely burbble of the V8 and the low down torque. In it's place you get a superb 6 cylinder growl which progresses to something akin to a Spitfire in full fury when pressing on. There's respectable torque at the low end but hang in there with the loud pedal and it comes at you in spades higher up the rev range. I remembered this last Sunday on a run out.
Targa pannels off is brilliant and in the really hot weather the mix of aircon with tergas off is an excellent combination. The aircon outlets are very well positioned for the driver! The panels can rattle a bit when in place but new roof seals are cheap and go a long way to solving the problem. Some complain of wind noise at speed but I don't seem to get this. I'm too busy hanging on anyway! Great asset to the Batmobile look too.
Inside it is a little smaller - and I challenge you not to bang your head on the way in and out, unless you're a midget. But once in, it really is very comfortable and feels right. The drive is probably slightly easier than the Chimaera but I can't really tell you why.
Am I pleased I made the change? You bet! The Griff and Chimaera are great cars and I would never say the T350 is better, it's just different. It will take a little getting used to if you've had your Griff for a while but you won't be disappointed.

It’s a big decision but the more I think about it the more I’m thinking it may be the way forward.
Really interesting that you were in basically the same position as me, very similar car and went through the same process of getting everything sorted. I’m tempted to get aircon retro fitted but I suspect it will still be really hot and I’m ashamed to say I don’t run with the roof off as much as I should.

I think targas off is a good compromise for you.
More practical? Hmm, not sure. Yes it has a very good looking tailgate and you could probably cram a fair bit in. We used the Chimaera a lot for overnighters and even on a Scotland tour. Plus Spa Classic, etc. Not sure we’ll get as much in the T350.
Good call to drive down in the Griff but a direct comparison will be quite difficult.
Next summer beckons and it’s a real head-turner. And keep us posted.

Really interesting chat for me too. Had my Griff 12 years and still love it, the wheel change reignited my passion for it a few years ago. Its a stunning looking car very individual in the modern world where new cars all look similar. It’s plenty quick enough and sounds magnificent. I’m a a bit conflicted as I don’t want to regret moving on from the Griffith as it’s a great car but feel I might use something else more often, and in all honesty I think I would prefer a hard top ( with air con and the targa panels sound a great compromise )

However, as I’m getting older now and planning more road trips with HQ there’s no getting away from it that it is impossibly hot in even warm weather and my best mate and his wife are sitting cool as cucumbers in their Z4MC and HQ is dreading getting back in it
Aircon retrofit looks to be a non-starter going by the forums but I have to admit I haven’t investigated it personally other than speaking to Jason at Str8six who didn’t think it possible either. He also said don’t change it for another Griff that has factory fit air con as he said it’s useless.
To stick with TVR which is in my blood leads me to look at T350s next year as they also stir the right senses for me. I need to drive one too. Can’t live with the tamora looks but like the Tuscan 2, might work too. In an ideal world I’d keep the griff as well as a T350
Stever - sounds like you are going through exactly the same thought process as me. It’s a nice position to be in but I don’t want to look back and regret it.
I’ve booked the Griff in to sort out the last couple of niggles ( leaking power steering hose at the usual point etc ) and will hopefully make up my mind once that’s done. At least then I can either P/ X or sell privately with a totally sorted car or not.
Pb 450 - that truly is a thing of beauty!!! Ideally I would like to have both, same as Stever but that’s never going to happen.
No wonder you are happy, seeing that makes it even harder to decide. Once my Griff is done in a couple of weeks I’ll start looking.

Thanks for the nice comments. I did have both in the front garden for 48 hours, before the T350 went away for a wee fettle. During that time the Chimaera was sold.
Yes, it's a shame I had to sell it but I don't actually miss it, strangely. Maybe I will next summer but somehow I doubt it.
