Tamora boot lock

My boot is refusing to unlock on the button. I thought it was linked to the near side window ecu which is also playing up. I swapped it over with the off side unit which has now ruled that out- the window then works fine but the boot still doesn't. is there a separate control unit for the boot? if not; any ideas where I should be looking? how is the boot lock stripped to inspect? there are a couple of large csk screws inside the boot but don't want to touch these in case 100 springs then shoot over my shoulder on release. any advice greatly appreciated.

PS- I AM still able to get into the boot via alternative means and will be sending the ECU to Paul Smith
