Ok, it was a Tuscan, but the frame is the same. Yes, you can do it, and I think the author was looking at it as a business. Not sure if he still is! Lots of info and some great photos.
If you read that thread you'll find that the conclusion is that it cannot be done. His car has a SBC. Although many others recon that a modified LS engine (different sump etc to the Corvette) will fit.

Plasticman fitted an AJP8 into a T350.

shpub's price sounds good, well done!

You simply use a sump of an F Body (An American car) that is taller and thinner. All us guys that have put LS's into various cars RX7/Cerbera/Escort/M3/Z3 to name a few use this sump. It will fit, if i find a T350 cheap enough i would probably do it, until then i'll make do with my Cerbera! smile

there are plenty of ls engines to choose from think up to ls6. have thought about a decent gear box ,the standard gear box from the ls is useless .can`t understand why you are thinking of going from a speed six to a v8 , you should of stayed with the chimaera or griff .!

So now a bit of time has gone by..how have these engines fared? What are the actual service requirements? Any long term benifits or drawbacks?

Hi Hunter

Best talk to Warren at Topcats knows all about these engines and done my conversion eighteen months ago. Remember these engines are called fit and forget as little is required regarding servicing etc.
PM me if you would like more info.

Colin

Ps Was getting near on 30mpg going down to Le Mans this year at a steady 85mph.

Hi Hunter

I too am having an LS7 fitted into my Sagaris, however I went down the route with a company called TVR101. You can follow the build on their Facebook page. I have researched this install for over 5 years so am happy to chat with you on any aspects you like.

Hi Colin, are you going to Neil Garner?

It all depends on who did the conversion in the first place. I know that Top Cats have fixed several conversions done by other less reputable people. One had the engine on the piss so the prop shaft would line up!!

I've got the T350 Warren did for himself. Plenty of usual TVR issues (heater amp at the moment), but nothing due to the conversion... oil every 6000 miles, 30 mpg on the cruise, 11 secs 1/4 mile.... :-)

It was Don1 who sent it to Steve to convert. He then sent to others. Not much to know before that.

If you have spoken to Don1 then you should have a list of things that need to be addressed. If they haven't been attended too then at least you know what needs to be done.

I still have the boot and spoiler if you wish to revert it 'back'.

Hi yes, spoke to Don and he had sent it to Sportmotive to have it sorted and then sell, so it should be reasonably correct. Which spoiler do you mean? The Tam one ore the Huge one? Ive emailed Sportmotive to see if they can give me more info on what was or wasnt done.

Both. Got the bootlid and the big wing. Still wrapped and stickered.
